a more challenging atmosphere than Lincoln??
I think so. some reasons.
a) OU was a night game. NEB is a late afternoon game. night games are typically more challenging environments.
b) OU was Bryce Underwood's first ever road start. he's got that experience under his belt and out of the way now- took his lumps and was a great learning opportunity for him.
c) Brent Venables. No disrespect to Nebraska DC- but Venables is and has long been one of the best DC minds in the sport. Not sure Nebraska's DC is on his level.
d) Michigan's TE's are healthier now. Marlin Klein didn't play vs OU and Hogan Hansen barely played. Both have been very banged up- and both are back ready to go now.
e) OU has a straight up filthy DL/front 7. Nebraska does not. that is the most challenging part for a visiting offense- not the noise and hostile environment- but the guys up front you have to try to block. OU has some fucking DUDES on that DL. Nebraska has JAGs.
f) No Sherrone Moore. Moore is sackless at times- let's face it. Biff is going to let it rip and let Bryce Underwood be himself and run the ball. Moore wasn't letting Underwood run at all those first 2 games- they had his training wheels on and covered him in shrink wrap. Biff is going to let him go. Bryce is a 6'4+, 230 pound athletic freak with 99 throw power and 91 speed....a literal Create-A-Player QB. Kid is a specimen. Biff ain't going to keep him in the shrink wrap....he's gonna let him be him.
