players and coaches have asked the crowd to be better than last season's Colorado game

it will be more than what the Sooner fans put out

a more challenging atmosphere than Lincoln??
I think so. some reasons.

a) OU was a night game. NEB is a late afternoon game. night games are typically more challenging environments.

b) OU was Bryce Underwood's first ever road start. he's got that experience under his belt and out of the way now- took his lumps and was a great learning opportunity for him.

c) Brent Venables. No disrespect to Nebraska DC- but Venables is and has long been one of the best DC minds in the sport. Not sure Nebraska's DC is on his level.

d) Michigan's TE's are healthier now. Marlin Klein didn't play vs OU and Hogan Hansen barely played. Both have been very banged up- and both are back ready to go now.

e) OU has a straight up filthy DL/front 7. Nebraska does not. that is the most challenging part for a visiting offense- not the noise and hostile environment- but the guys up front you have to try to block. OU has some fucking DUDES on that DL. Nebraska has JAGs.

f) No Sherrone Moore. Moore is sackless at times- let's face it. Biff is going to let it rip and let Bryce Underwood be himself and run the ball. Moore wasn't letting Underwood run at all those first 2 games- they had his training wheels on and covered him in shrink wrap. Biff is going to let him go. Bryce is a 6'4+, 230 pound athletic freak with 99 throw power and 91 speed....a literal Create-A-Player QB. Kid is a specimen. Biff ain't going to keep him in the shrink wrap....he's gonna let him be him.

I'll  give you the others.  This Saturday afternoon will NOT be typical

This isn't dogging Lincoln, but yes there certainly are. Night game at Oklahoma seems like a tougher atmospher than Lincoln day game. I'd say the same if circumstances were night game at Penn State vs day game at the Big House and say the night game at Beaver Stadium is a far more challenging atmosphere to play in.

To further back it up.. The Sooners home record the last 4 years compared to Nebraska's home record the same period isn't really comparable.

didn't say it would be.

just saying night games are generally tougher than afternoon kickoffs for the visiting team.

You think McElroy is better than Jake Butt I simply say agree to disagree. McElroy is like listening to a guy struggling through reading a script behind the camera where Butt sounds like a guy that knows the topics so well he flows through speaking from the heart with analysis. Everyone has their own people they like, but McElroy is painful for my ears.

No I hear ya.. And I think Lincoln is a great place to play, great fans and great atmosphere. There's just something different to me about night games vs day games and I believe there's an element about strength of the team and how much it makes or doesn't make the atmosphere intimidating. For example, going to play Michigan under Brady Hoke probably wasn't the same as going to Ann Arbor to play mid-career Lloyd Carr teams.. have to say mid-career otherwise we have to bring up Appy State lol.
