WEEK FOUR
#16 IOWA d. #8 MICHIGAN
WEEK FIVE
Saturday, October 3
ESPN College Gameday, live from Iowa City, IA
#11 IOWA d. #1 OHIO STATE
Party like it's 1962!  Can you imagine the party they'd throw in Iowa City?

I was curious so I looked it up, the last time Iowa beat Ohio State and Michigan in the same season was 1962 and that is the ONLY year it happened.

Years when they beat or tied one or the other:
  • 2017:  Beat Ohio State 55-24 in Iowa City, didn't play Michigan, finished 8-5
  • 2016:  Beat Michigan 14-13 in Iowa City, didn't play Ohio State, finished 8-5
  • 2013:  Beat Michigan 24-21 in Iowa City, lost 34-24 to Ohio State in Columbus, finished 8-5
  • 2011:  Beat Michigan 24-16 in Iowa City, didn't play Ohio State, finished 7-6
  • 2010:  Beat Michigan 38-28 in Ann Arbor, lost 20-17 to Ohio State in Iowa City, finished 8-5
  • 2009:  Beat Michigan 30-28 in Iowa City, lost 27-24 in OT to Ohio State in Columbus, finished 11-2
  • 2004:  Beat Ohio State 33-7 in Iowa City, lost 30-17 to Michigan in Ann Arbor, finished 10-2
  • 2003:  Beat Michigan 30-27 in Iowa City, lost 19-10 to Ohio State in Columbus, finished 10-3
  • 2002:  Beat Michigan 34-9 in Ann Arbor, didn't play Ohio State, finished 11-2
  • 1991:  Beat Ohio State 16-9 in Columbus, lost 43-24 to Michigan in Iowa City, finished 10-1-1
  • 1990:  Beat Michigan 24-23 in Ann Arbor, lost 27-26 to Ohio State in Iowa City, finished 8-4
  • 1988:  Tied Michigan 17-17, tied Ohio State 24-24 both in Iowa City, finished 6-4-3
  • 1987:  Beat Ohio State 29-27 in Columbus, lost 37-10 to Michigan in Ann Arbor, finished 10-3
  • 1985:  Beat Michigan 22-10 in Iowa City, lost 22-13 to Ohio State in Columbus, finished 10-2 - This is a famous game in Ohio State history because Iowa's win over Michigan came first (10/19) and Iowa was #1 and favored when they came to Columbus on November 2.
  • 1984:  Beat Michigan 26-0 in Iowa City, lost 45-26 to Ohio State in Columbus, finished 8-4-1
  • 1983:  Beat Ohio State 20-14 in Iowa City, lost 16-13 to Michigan in Ann Arbor, finished 9-3
  • 1981:  Beat Michigan 9-7 in Ann Arbor, didn't play Ohio State, finished 8-4 - Iowa and Ohio State were the only two BigTen teams to not play each other in 1981 and they tied for the league title at 7-1.  Iowa went to the Rose Bowl based on the longest loser rule and got shutout by Washington 28-0.
  • 1962:  Beat Ohio State and Michigan each by a score of 28-14 with both games in Iowa City, finished 4-5 and unranked.  Ohio State was decent at 6-3, Michigan was atrocious at 2-7.
  • 1960:  Beat Ohio State 35-12 in Iowa City, didn't play Michigan, finished 8-1
  • 1959:  Beat Ohio State 16-7 in Columbus, didn't play Michigan, finished 5-4
  • 1958:  Beat Michigan 37-14 in Ann Arbor, lost 38-28 to Ohio State in Iowa City, finished 8-1-1
  • 1956:  Beat Ohio State 6-0 in Iowa City, lost 14-17 to Michigan in Iowa City, finished 9-1
  • 1952:  Beat Ohio State 8-0 in Iowa City, didn't play Michigan, finished 2-7
  • 1948:  Beat Ohio State 14-7 in Columbus, didn't play Michigan, finished 4-5
  • 1947:  Tied Ohio State 13-13 in Columbus, didn't play Michigan, finished 3-5-1
  • 1928:  Beat Ohio State 7-6 in Columbus, lost 10-7 to Michigan in Ann Arbor, finished 6-2
  • 1925:  Beat Ohio State 15-0 in Columbus, didn't play Michigan, finished 5-3
  • 1924:  Beat Michigan 9-2 in Ann Arbor, tied Ohio State 0-0 in Iowa City, finished 6-1-1
  • 1923:  Beat Ohio State 20-0 in Columbus, lost 9-3 to Michigan in Iowa City, finished 5-3
  • 1922:  Beat Ohio State 12-9 in Columbus, didn't play Michigan, finished 7-0
