I thought that too, but oddly, it's not a new filler event, it's been around since 1924.

The number of events has exploded, and it seems like they've added a team event to just about every sport as well.  I'm guessing that is also pressure from the larger nations, and their TV partners.  Rewards having depth, which population tends to lead to.

I agree with you that 2 man bobsled is my favorite sliding sport.

Disagree about the 2 man luge.  I say we keep going.  4 man luge?  Also you know some guy keeps tossing out there mixed doubles, just to float the idea

You have grown wise young AAA.

And yeah I can buy that the combo ski jumping/cross country has been around a while.  I suspect it, and biatholon, are actually evolved from the Nordic countries' training regimens for defending their countries aginst invading Russians.

I'll give you old farts something to complain about...the USA women's curling team came up clutch after a devastating loss yesterday, and giving up 3 in the 10th to go to an extra end today.  I was riveted, and you can't take that away from me!

It was the 2nd best moment of these Olympics, behind Shiffrin.

Shiffrin was second.  The best moment was 41-year-old Elena Meyers Taylor winning gold in bobsled and then hugging her kids on the platform immediately after.

If I haven't watched a single second of the Olympics, do I hate America?

Touching as they may be, I can't put medal ceremonies over the actual competition.

I can easily, when the competition in question is boring-ass curling.

Also, it wasn't the medal ceremony, it was the moment immediately after she finished her final run, and realized she'd won gold.  So, you know... the actual competition and its aftermath.

To each his own.  Although I disagree, there's a lot of people that think baseball is boring.

I appreciate the strategery, the necessary skill, and performing under pressure of curling, can't ever imagine mastering either myself.

All I have to do it spit out words with a racing pulse these days.

That's where I am.  I couldn't get into a curling league.  And honestly I feel like they've given it less time than it deserves considering the sports they cover than the USA is non competitive in, and that's their market.  But I assumed Venn Diagram of the people who think curling is boring, and the people who think baseball is boring is a circle
