The best NFL quarterback ever selected in the 5th round of the NFL Draft is Mark Brunell

In the same way that I missed the whole Saints fandom but somehow inherited hatred of the Falcons, I married a Cowboys fan and while I'm not invested there, I've somehow managed to develop a hatred for the Eagles.

Could be they have way too many Bama players for my liking, but also I suspect MDT = :sign0099:

It is right and good and just to hate the Eagles, and especially their fans.  They represent everything that is bad and evil in the world.

Wow, that seems a good deal for a 3rd stringer.

Are there Browns or Jets former execs working for the Giants?
That's the problem the "Brown's former execs" aren't former. Like Warde Manuel he still has a job because he knows too much or Haslem is a total dweeb - prolly both

Well, in the Browns' defense, maybe jettisoning Baker Mayfield for Mr. Handsy could end up working out someday.

It wasn't the trying it was the ransom and only a fool couldn't see it at the time....like the owner. You know the same guy who said he talked to a homeless guy at a Bus Shelter who told him to draft Johnny Manzeil in round 1. Same luminary who drafted 28 yr old Rookie Brandon Weeden in the 1st round 2 yrs before that

This is what happens when Daddy Haslem leaves little junior jimmy haslem too much money that he can't help to spend on such brilliant pursuits as those listed above. And Deshaun Watson, no worries though as Daddy's Pilot Flying J corporation was bought out by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway for $13.6 billion. So there's more where that came from

This is correct.

I know several people who went to Philadelphia for the 2018 NFC Championship Game, and were escorted out of the Link for their own safety after, shall we say, being treated VERY badly.

You're not going back far enough.  What about that #1 overall out of Kentucky...

Everybody has at least one story like that, though.  The several HOF and competent QB's from the class of 1983, the Chiefs pick Todd Blackledge before Dan Marino and Jim Kelly.  Some have multiple misfires, and more recent pain.

1982: Bears win that one.

The 1982 NFL Draft’s quarterback picks were Art Schlichter (Colts, 1st overall) and Jim McMahon (Bears, 5th overall).

1983 was celebrated, but not that great in the time test. Half of them went on to have much success, but the other 3 not so much.

Well he didn't have an O-Line but he was a dink & dunk type anyway so quick releases should have been right up his alley. And he got a former Playmate of the Month from January '98 on the Couch and the Browns backed up the Brinks truck for him so he's not griping too much

McMahon was fun, had nothing against him.  But I'd take Elway, Kelly, and Marino over him, even though he won as many SB as those 3 combined.  The NFC defenses dominated their combined era in the big game.  Maybe you're talking about super busts that were taken ahead of your team's eventual guy.  That's a good one.  Whoever was picked after the Raiders took Jamarcus Russell at #1 overall would have to be in the running.

Whoever was picked after Peyton Manning?

McMahon was a year before Marino, Elway, etc.
