Michigan's NIL is apparently shit compared to other helmet programs, because the largest donors want to put their name on something, or continue to get access, like they do for committing to the program. If they want to dump whatever money they have into one 17 year old, I would think the other helmet programs would welcome it.
Obviously, comparing it to non helmet programs is a non-starter. Even having a low NIL commitment is larger than an MSU, or a Wisconsin, or an Iowa. We've turned college football into an even worse version of MLB. But I assume the powers that be don't realize how not having a cap, even while having SOME amount of team control has killed MLB
