I'm not moving there

Washington Commanders promote David Blough to offensive coordinator

Former Purdue QB if folks don't remember lol. I realize not many people pay attention to us.

Wow... 30 years old. Not ALL that far removed from actually playing NFL football. Never held a coordinator position; had spent 2 years as an assistant QB coach before being promoted to QB coach when the incumbent was hired by Stanford...

Apparently (according to the story) there was a ton of interest from other teams, which means he must be seriously impressive. But I get stuck (as a fan of former Boilermakers) being of two minds here...

  • I'm excited to see someone that is clearly so impressive that he's being given a job like this far before conventional wisdom thinks he's "ready" or "proven". Sometimes genius just needs a foot in the door to shine.
  • I'm worried that if he's simply not seasoned enough or ready to shine, that the NFL is a fickle league and a lack of early success will be a stink that he carries with him for a long time, possibly well past the time that he actually IS ready to shine.

Either way, best of luck to Mr Blough

How would you guys divide the teams into divisions?

The only one that really bugs me is that they should swap Indianapolis and Baltimore for the sake of geography.

Dallas is also geographically challenged, but that one doesn't bother me as badly because those rivalries are baked in, and there's not an obvious team in the South to swap them with.

You could go nuts, and switch around the Conference alignment. Seattle was in the AFC before the Texans burst onto the scene, for example.

Didn't catch the game but I've always liked the Bears and I'm also always happy to see the Packers lose.

I don't mind the Bears but I was rooting for the Packers in that game because Caleb Williams was being a little bitch for three-quarters of the contest.

The Eagles are eliminated.  When the Bears are done, I'll be happy and won't care who wins out.

(although it'd be cool if it were Houston)

Yes, this should also go on the "what makes you happy" and "good things in the world" threads.
