8 games into the season Iowa is averaging 19.5 PPG.

5.5 points per game short of Brian's contract clause which states they need to average 25 PPG.

Unless that defense and special teams goes on an absolute scoring tear the last 4 weeks of the season, homie ain't gonna make it.
After yesterday any returning players will see to it that doesn't happen. But they kind of got jobbed on that great return by Dejean

Alex Grinch and Brian Ferentz - stealing money week after week - damn my career choices. I couldn't have faffed things up that bad but I could have certainly given it a shot

The rule was put in place to keep returners hiding behind fair catch protections from giving unclear or ambiguous hand motions meant to trick the opposing team into pulling up.  DeJean absolutely did that on purpose and it wouldn't surprise me at all if they practice this.  Hard to say whether it had any effect on the play.  Looks to me that with several Gophers surrounding DeJean before he grabbed the ball....that they had slowed up a bit.  Several of them could have leveled DeJean the second he touched the ball and didn't.

Good Point and prolly spot on considering Iowa's ability to score or lack there of. Belichick had to be soiling himself watching this though

Because that is a 5 yard penalty in the pros.

I still can't believe the Gophers went to Mordor and out-Iowaed Iowa.
