The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is hosting the Cornhusker Bonspiel, a national college curling tournament, this weekend at the Breslow Ice Center.

So, the importance of coaching.  MSU and Wisconsin, who have been down for a minute, with new coaches, are playing this weekend in Madison with the Big Ten title on the line.  MSU holds a 2 point edge going into the weekend.

Naturally, BTN isn't airing it, only BTN+.  So bad camera angles, and the announcers will be two UW undergrads.

OSU, who previously only had 1 win in 20 games in Big Ten play, swept Wisconsin and split with Michigan State, to hurt these two's resumes, but the winner gets the #1 seed and bye in the conference tournament, and the inside track for the 4th #1 seed.

Couple of empty netter to give MSU a 5-2 win and a Big Ten Championship.

Oddly, the only team to never win a Big Ten title?  Michigan.  Minnesota has 6, every.other school except Michigan has 1. .UM has 0

Michigan and Minnesota sweep Notre Dame and Penn State to advance to the hockey semifinals, with MSU.

Wisconsin and OSU play a deciding Game 3 today to be the final team.

Still don't get why they don't also make the semis and championship a Best of 3, if they aren't going to play them on the same weekend

MSU beats OSU, Michigan beats Minnesota.

MSU hosts Michigan in the Big Ten title game.  That environment is going to be insane.

Granted last weekend and this weekend should also be best of 3, but whatever

Busy night in East Lansing.  Winning a pair of Big Ten postseason titles on home soil, in front of standing room only crowds, after already both sports regular season titles, even though basketball was playing a tourney game simultaneously.

WEST CHESTER, Penn. -- There's a national championship trophy coming back to Sioux City.

With a 5-2 victory over the East Islip (NY) Chiefs, the Sioux City Metros high school hockey team earned the USA Hockey Division II national championship on Sunday at Ice Line Arena in West Chester, Penn.

The sides were even at 2-2 heading into the third period before Karson Fitch scored what ultimately amounted to the game-winner.

Fitch scored on a Sioux City power play with 3 minutes, 46 seconds left in the final period and was assisted by Tegan Doelman.

Nathan Solma, the Metros' all-time leading scorer, added a goal less than 15 seconds later on a Grant Harder assist, and just for good measure, Fitch added an empty-netter on a Solma assist with just over a minute remaining.
