The OL was a sieve at only one spot - the most important one. Still can't believe Rudy left him out there all season. There HAD to be someone else more serviceable. Of course, there was, and his name is Jack Nelson. Beach is now a guard, where he should have been all along.
It might be true here, but one of the greatest fallacies in sports is that there has to be someone better on the bench.

There simply does not.

Man, he looked like a bull fighter out there, especially early. A bad bull fighter.

UW is fine at center.

RT is the only true competition right now, aside from who gets to run with the twos.

Badgers have a tough-ish league slate.

They should be 3-0 heading into the Shoe.

I'm certainly glad I'm not paying for season tickets for that home slate.
I see that as a tough draw for UW largely because the H/A division is mostly not what I would want if I were a Badger. Specifically:
  • Get HFA that is probably not needed for IL
  • Do not get HFA that might be needed for MSU
  • Get HFA that hasn't been needed lately for PU
  • Get HFA that is probably not needed for UMD
  • Do not get HFA that might be needed for Iowa
  • Do not get HFA that might be needed for UNL

Saturday Gameday on Twitter: "Wisconsin having Montee Ball, Melvin Gordon, and James White all in the same backfield was absolutely unfair. They put up 500+ rushing yards and 8 touchdowns vs Nebraska in the 2012 Big Ten Championship game 🤯 https://t.co/mv3let0FU0" / Twitter

I am hearing that Fall camp is going really well, players are really committed to The System and getting after it, showing leadership, the younger guys have bought in, etc.

Interestingly I am hearing that about every team.

Neither defense looked mildly interested in being there

The night Bielema said farewell to the Badger faithful.  I'm sure it was a bittersweet moment for all.

I just remember thinking I had never seen so much open field in a game.  Combined with the prior year between MSU-UW, I thought the CCG was going to be defense optional going forward.  MSU and Iowa rectified that a couple years later

It wasn't that night, but soon after.

He needed a change, he thought, so he made it. He wanted to build his own program, in his image. I do believe it was time for him to go.

That might actually work out for him in Champaign. We'll see.

It certainly didn't work out at Arky.

Arkansas appears, to me, to be a tough hard nosed team, perhaps less talented than say LSU, but also perhaps more dangerous.  They remind me of some Wisconsin teams.

Kentucky is somewhat similar, with more finesse I think, but both could win ten this year.  UK gets UGA at home late in the year.

But it occurs to me that the SEC has more mysteries than usual this year, in part due to new and newer coaches.  Folks are high on Tennessee and their offense, they probably have a reasonable range between 10-2 and 7-5.  Florida is probably similar, as is LSU, USCe,  and Ole Miss.  And these guys could all finish 6-6 or worse if disaster strikes.

Vandy is pretty reliable.  I don't expect much from Mizzou.
