Reggie Bush was absolutely deserving of the Heisman.  I can't speak for anyone else but I've never contested that.

But it certainly should not have been THIS kind of landslide victory.  This is a result based entirely on mediot hype that began before the season and persisted throughout.

ESPN and the Circle of Stoopidity had decided on the winner before the season even began.  Their series on "2005 USC versus the Greatest Armies of All Time" and their determination that Leinart and Bush would have easily handled both Xerxes and Genghis Khan was especially illuminating.

I think that Heisman vote is Exhibit A on VY getting his pedestal built based on 1 game. 

He wasn't the world-beater, "best I ever saw" before that RB.
So if he wasn't that for the first 36 games of his college career, then he wasn't after game 37, sorry.

Why do people insist on staring at minority evidence with bright red Superman eye lasers and ignoring the majority of a thing???  I will never understand it. 

Vince Young was very good.  You could say he was great.  Heisman runner-up.  National champion.  Fantastic scrambler. 
But he wasn't the best anything. 
He was Pat White with a MUCH better defense.

VY did have the most combined yards of any other QB 

but Im happy he got to play with a chip on his shoulder and win the NC

He also had a cannon of an arm.  Lamar doesn't have half the arm Vick had.

And Vick was so far ahead of his time, they didn't know how to design an offense around him.  OCs were so far behind his talent at the time.  I would love to have seen him with Cam Cameron, who, for all of his faults, did a great job designing an offense around Antwaan Randle-El, who wasn't as good at anything as Vick was.

Lulz.  That Heisman vote is Exhibit A on the sheeple voters being led by ESPN pulling strings all season long and nothing more.

I'm curious why you're using career stats instead of season stats.  The Heisman isn't a career award.

It's okay, we all know that Tim Tebow wears Vince Young underoos.  No shame in that.
