MINNESOTA 27,
MICHIGAN STATE 24
Minnesota marched up and down the field on the Spartans in the first half, and largely held the explosive Michigan State offense in check. The Gophers responded with a touchdown drive, and then after Mel Tucker decided to try and go for points, rather than running the clock out, got the ball back. Tanner Morgan hit Chris Autman-Bell down to the 35, and Matthew Trickett hit a 52 yard field goal on the last play of the game. Kenny Walker got the Spartans back to within 3 with an 18 yard touchdown run with 5:45 left, but the Gophers were able to run out the rest of the clock. Tanner Morgan finished with 233 passing yards and 106 rushing yards on the day.
