Clemson vs Iowa State........Underachiever Bowl?

It wasn't a surprise that ISU wilted under having high expectations for the first time ever, but I don't think anyone saw Clemson's issues coming into the season.
Iowa State is who they always have been under Campbell.

Clemson is more of a shocker. Their offense is absolutely horrific and DJ Uiagalelei is truly awful. They are lucky as you know what that they play in the ACC, otherwise they might've been a .500 team. They are basically Iowa with better athletes on defense but not nearly as good special teams.

Pretty much my exact thoughts once this matchup was released - the Pre-Season Top 10 Bowl.

Iowa State was all over the place this year, getting stonewalled by the Hawkeyes D before posting duds while favored against West Virginia and Texas Tech down the stretch. Yet they looked played a ranked team in blowing out Kansas State, Texas, and TCU, and upsetting Oklahoma State.

Matt Campbell deserves the praise he's received for stabilizing Iowa State into an 8-win program. For this I think Cyclones fans are appreciative enough to not run him off if Campbell plateaus into what Kansas State or Arizona State usually are. Iowa State loves Campbell as their coach and I weirdly think they see this season's underachieving as a blessing that kept the Helmet Schools from luring him away with a bottomless Mel Tucker contract.

We'll see how Iowa State can recover next season after losing a lot of production starting with their record setting QB and RB.

Clemson pulling away 20-3 in the 3rd.

Am I the only one who wants to tackle that Burger King Cheez-it guy?

He needs to be knocked down a peg.

kind of amazing how Lincoln Riley leaves and Bob Stoops comes back to coach 1 game and suddenly Oklahoma plays defense again. Will never convince me otherwise that defense isn't a mindset and attitude that in large part emanates out from the head coach down and into the rest of the team. Saw it first hand when RichRod came over and flat out said he doesn't worry about the defense too much. Riley has zero interest in prioritizing defense and that's why his teams never played any. Think it will just be the same at USC. Maybe worse- as he'll be able to get his hands on even shinier 5* offensive weapons at 'SC.

I wouldn't say they suck....they are a 10 win team that did beat Ohio State....

Plenty of sucky teams put up points on Lincoln Riley's Oklahoma defenses. The fact that they're holding Oregon to just 3 points is actually shocking.

would've been hilarious if the interviewer had interrupted him and said.... relax....you know you just won the cheeze-it bowl, it's not like you won the dorito bowl bro.

That's a lot to glean from 2.5 quarters of a bowl game.

I guess Bob Stoops was distracted on that 66-yard go route TD.
