I don't think that this proves what you want it to prove.  Lets look a little closer:

For God's sake Medina. Prove what you want it to prove? It proves that this is funny. It's funny that the P5 hasn't beaten the G5 yet. That's it.

No one is out in these streets arguing the MWC matches up pound for pound with the Big Ten or something. And let's face it, there would be no way to do that. Bowls have very little P5-G5 crossover for a range of reasons. And it's usually the second-tier G5 against the 6-6 or 7-5 P5 cadre. So it's always gonna look like that.

But I'm a bit disappointed you got into gassing up these G5 teams to make the point look better. UCF and Army are decidedly mid-grade, this was known going in. Air Force is maybe a hint better than that, but still just above average by that program's standards. USU is a nice story, but likewise a team we already knew wasn't that much. Houston, ehh, just a good defense really. If you wanted that team to run it up on any team that wasn't going to go 16 possessions, you were gonna be left wanting.

What I'm saying is, all those lessons after each game, they are without meaning at all. There is no lesson. It's bowl season. The records can be very funny, but they don't mean squat.

Also, if we are going down that road, Alabama just barely beat Auburn and Florida, which means Alabama is about as good as an above average AAC team.

Since you watched, can you explain the teams both going for two after their early TD's?
Cuz it's the silly season and we ought not draw any conclusions from these games.

Also, Minnesota has been operating a special teams unit with mildly better duct tape than Nebraska.

Three and out on defense followed by a punt return for a touchdown.   Not a bad start for Maryland.

LoL, we'll find out in a couple of days.

FWIW:  We should ALL be hoping that Bama just absolutely obliterates Cincinnati because the next time some G5 goes undefeated they could take YOUR team's CFP spot.  That is generally less likely if Cincy looks hopelessly overmatched and more likely if they look like they belong.

Naahhhh. I like fun. Different teams seems fun.

The only reason I'd want Bama to win is because I'd like them to win the second-most of the four teams in the field, and they'd have the best chance to knock out Nos. 3 and 4.

Finally getting to see what Maryland can do when B1G refs aren't screwing them!

Maryland having some fun.  Both teams having traveled north for their bowl game....good for them.

Maryland probably shouldn't have joined the B1G, and especially since they joined in my opinion the toughest division in the P5, the B1G East. The ACC is so comically bad, had Maryland just stayed put they probably would have won the ACC this year.

Maryland couldn't afford to not join. They were cutting sports left and right.

true, the money was too good to pass up. ACC TV money is a joke compared to the B1G.

Just saying, from a competitive standpoint- they'd actually win the ACC every once in awhile. They have next to no shot of ever winning the B1G.

Clemson vs Iowa State........Underachiever Bowl?

It wasn't a surprise that ISU wilted under having high expectations for the first time ever, but I don't think anyone saw Clemson's issues coming into the season.
