He was originally committed to Iowa State, flipped to Michigan State, flipped to Ohio State, flipped to Georgia
about to be on his 5th team if he transfers. Crazy. Never trust any player who flips more than once imo.

Treating JT Daniels like a 5 star QB is like a college treating a student on academic probation like a National Merit Scholar because that student was a high school valedictorian. Yes Daniels was a 5 star guy, but since then he's built an injury history, couldn't/wouldn't beat out a nearly un-recruited 3 star for his old job, and was probably only starting in the first place because of prep hype.

Pure speculation, but I believe Georgia is bringing in JT Daniels simply because they can. Reminds me of when USC would stock pile QBs like Mitch Mustain more so to keep them away from any potential competition.
He is definitely worth bringing in, just because you can never have enough talent or depth at the QB position imo. I would've even been for Michigan bringing him in I think. So long as there was an open competition and no promises made.

But I'm with you for the most part. JT Daniels did not light the world on fire or show that he was going to be anything amazing in his short time at USC. His true frosh year in 2018 was OK for a rookie, but that's it. The guy who replaced him in 2019 after his injuries was a true freshman and he had a WAY better freshman in 2019 than Daniels had in 2018. Not saying he can't become something and develop into a top tier QB, but imo he didn't show any of the flashes as a rookie that say Trevor Lawrence or Justin Fields did. Fields didn't play a ton in 2018, but when he did you saw the obvious talent. Daniels doesn't have the size or raw physical ability of a Fields or Lawrence.

Daniels is 6'1 and change, not the biggest guy and doesn't have the biggest arm but he was known for his accuracy and the crazy winning and stats as a HS recruit. Daniels put up some insane numbers in high school and he played against some of the best HS competition in the country, but he also kind of played on a super team. Mater Dei is loaded every freaking year. The guy played with other 5*'s and 4*'s all over his offense. Even some of the younger back-ups that didn't even start when Daniels was at Mater Dei wound up being 5*'s and 4*'s in the 2019 and 2020 classes.

UNL Safety Henry Gray, an early enrollee from Miami in the 2020 recruiting class, has entered his name in the transfer portal.

fearless... it's not a win.  I heard going back home due to covid he realized he didn't want to be so far away.  This is a loss.

I also heard Francois is thinking about doing the same.  If that happens, it would be 2 of UNL's top 3 ranked kids gone from the 2020 class before August.. both at DB.

Yeah, I assumed.  I wouldn't be surprised to see more.  I'm guessing that's not unrelated to MSU's de-commit, who was also from Miami.

The Lincoln lad returned home in March, and he plans to stay here for one final season of college football as a Husker.

Jared Bubak announced on Saturday he'll walk on to the Nebraska football program, and plans to begin voluntary workouts with the team on Monday.

He had once been committed to the Huskers five years ago, before deciding to attend Arizona State on scholarship. Set to join Nebraska as a grad transfer,

Yeah, me too. Georgia already got Newman to transfer in. Daniels must really believe he's going to get the waiver and that he can beat out Newman. Daniels already used his Redshirt last year, but because it was due to injury he might be able to get another Redshirt. UGA also has a 5 STARZ QB coming in 2021 in Vandergriff.

Daniels probably could've gotten himself a guaranteed starting spot somewhere else.

I thought you could only get double redshirt for injury?

And UGA has a fairly competent fifth year senior QB and Matthis as well, neither of which appear likely to contend for starting.  I am guessing Daniels does NOT get a waiver and sits a year and then expects to start after Newman departs.  Their incoming 5 star guy might red shirt or transfer obviously.

I guess "we" are assuming some kind of season will happen.  I wonder if that played a role in his departure from USC.  Can you imagine what could happen if California doesn't allow CFB and others do?

And then we have what could be a surge in infections due to these protests.

You can sometimes do it with transfer and injury. Granted, it seems like basketball players get that more than football, I assume in part because a sixth year of basketball makes more sense.
