Nebraska’s new multimedia rights partner, Playfly Sports, announced Monday details for Head Coach Matt Rhule’s television and radio shows for the 2023 season. Both programs will move to a new day and time slot for this fall.

In an effort to increase exposure and visibility to Nebraska fans, The Husker Football Show with Matt Rhule will now air statewide on Monday evenings. Playfly has partnered with Gray Television, KMTV and News Channel Nebraska for statewide distribution.

“We have revised the show format and our team is excited about the new distribution plans for our TV show,” said Jason Rathe, General Manager for Playfly Sports.  “The new primetime schedule will give our fans a consistent opportunity to hear Coach Rhule break down the previous game.”

The Husker Football Show will air on Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. CT. The show will air on KMTV in the Omaha area, KSNB Local4 in the Lincoln, Grand Island, Hastings and Kearney areas, on KNOP News 2 in North Platte and on NBC Nebraska in Scottsbluff.  The show will also appear on News Channel Nebraska throughout the week.

According to Alberts, Nebraska has the 5th-most expensive ticket in college football after all relevant factors are considered. The AD of the Huskers also conceded “that’s not right,” particularly for a program that has been 3-9 recently.

THIS WEEK IN HUSKER HISTORY
The week of Aug. 25-31, looking back in five-year intervals

1898: Nebraska and other Western schools ratify rule changes adopted by Eastern universities, including reducing the value of PAT kicks to one point.

1918: Nebraska unveils a schedule that includes several big-name schools, but some of the games would fall through because of World War I and an influenza epidemic.

1953: Fall camp begins in temperatures near 100 degrees for Bill Glassford's Huskers.

1973: Some big stars are gone but the cupboard isn't bare as Tom Osborne prepares for his first season as head coach.

1978: Nebraska gets set to travel to Birmingham for its opener against top-ranked Alabama.

1983: Nebraska avenges its controversial 1982 loss at Penn State by thrashing the Nittany Lions, 44-6, in the inaugural Kickoff Classic.

1988: The Huskers open with a 23-14 win over Texas A&M in the Kickoff Classic.

1998: Nebraska survives an astonishing 405 receiving yards by Troy Edwards as the Huskers beat Louisiana Tech, 56-27, in Frank Solich's debut as head coach.

2003: A stifling defensive performance gives the Huskers a 17-7 season-opening win against Oklahoma State in Lincoln.

2008: The Bo Pelini era opens with a 47-24 victory over Western Michigan.

2013: Nebraska has two 100-yard rushers but gives up 602 yards on defense as the Huskers struggle to a 37-34 win in their season opener against Wyoming. Also, the Bob Devaney statue outside Memorial Stadium is unveiled.

2018: True freshman Adrian Martinez is named the starter at quarterback, and No. 2 QB Tristan Gebbia decides to transfer.

Such a waste.  He got all the support UGA could give him for 2 years and that wasn't enough.  What is he gonna do when he gets sent back to Atlanta when Nebraska throws him out?
