OSU trending hard for 5* DE Zach Harrison, who is announcing tomorrow morning.
Two things happened which flipped that recruitment on its head:
The beat down in Columbus and Urban retiring. Michigan had the lead. It’s not that they lost. It’s how they lost which gave the kid a pause. He told other Michigan recruits he can’t go to Michigan if they can never beat OSU. Also: he actually wasn’t a fan of Urban. It’s rare as hell- but some kids don’t like Urban. Wasn’t a secret he didn’t like Urban. Sounds like he’s clicked with Ryan Day’s personality.
Just another indictment on Harbaugh and his ability to finish the season down the stretch and close on elite recruits. Feel like the hype has worn off and he’s running out of steam. Next year is his put up or shut up year. If he doesn’t win the B1G and beat OSU he’s done.

Flipped to MSU.  Losing your long time QB commit sucks, tough to find a Plan B.  Kid has a good arm, but he's short.
Yeah. Especially when he recruits a bunch of other kids to come with him, then bolts with one of your top LB's in the class.
Leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouth, from recruits, coaches, and Heisman voters.

Sam Shurtleff, an outside linebacker prospect from Georgia,* announces he’s walking on at Nebraska.

Surtleff is the 12th known member of NU's 2019 walk-on class, a group that could eventually finish at more than 20.

He is the second out-of-state walk-on in the group, joining Loveland, Colorado, receiver Zach Weinmaster.

For OSU, very interesting.  QB Dwan Mathis may have flipped to Georgia.  Hmmm.

3* RB Aaron Young may have flipped from MSU to Rutgers.  He's from Eastern PA, so makes sense.  Funny thing is, 3 weeks ago, his father surprised him with a trip to East Lansing to watch MSU-Rutgers (which, meh as a gift) as a reward for winning the state title.

He has signed by reports.  I think he's flipping because of Fields.

Thought that might put OSU back in play for Dobbs.  Rumors were that Mathis is not particularly well liked, and Dobbs (his former teammate) commitment to MSU (after being recently seen as an OSU lean) days after Mathis flipped from MSU to OSU was not viewed as a coincidence in most circles.

If UGA doesn't win an NC in the next 3-4 years, all this recruiting will be for naught.  But of course there is another program standing in their way that also is recruiting lights out.

They look to be flat loaded next season.

Hard to read at this point.  Some rumor that Mathis wanted to enroll early but might have an issue due to grades.  So he commits to Georgia despite never having visited Georgia.  Of course, the "grade issues" might be a smokescreen for "a transferring QB."  Also, this is the fourth team Mathis has committed to, so tough to trust his camp either.

signed with Michigan. That’s freaking huge. Instant day 1 starter and by far the best safety prospect that Michigan has landed in years. He’s so athletic he could actually wind up at CB. I’d prefer him at safety though just because Don Brown is obsessed with playing man coverage.

The Badgers got 19 today, and 4 will enroll early, including Leo Chenel. I'm thinking the kid will see a lot of field time next season. Just wait until he hits the Wisconsin strength program.
