• The No. 3 Nebraska volleyball team begins Big Ten play with a pair of matches in Illinois this weekend. Nebraska plays at No. 20 Illinois at 7:30 p.m. on Friday in Champaign. That match will be televised on BTN and streamed on FoxSports.com and the FoxSports app. The Huskers will make a quick turnaround and face Northwestern on Saturday at 7 p.m. in Evanston. That match will not be televised but will be streamed on the BTN+ app and BTNPlus.com (subscription necessary).

I'm guessing this is why our message board friend "SkersFan" is not coming in for the tOSU game.  He is friends with John Cook and obviously Cook is on a roadtrip this weekend.

Probably the least attractive 5 set 3 hr+ match I've seen in awhile but Nebraska pulls it out in 5 sets.  I don't think Nebraska wins that w/o the Desneberg sub in the back row for 4th and 5th.  The reason Nebraska finds a way to win, usually, is serve receive and passing.   That's been a problem this year,  and I think Cook knows they are in trouble w/o the sub.  

Expect to see more of her subbing for Lexi,  who is much better this year on the attack OH.

Good chance they hang there for a bit.  I think they first play UT around the 3rd or 4th week of Oct.

They could, but the B12 isn't particularly good this year.  Still, teams drop games to inferior opponents all the time.  Heck, Texas lost to Rice.

I'm sure Marq is so very very proud of the Huskers' accomplishment in this poll.

I clearly play up my outrage over this and it really is trivial, but how are top 5 teams often being left off multiple ballots?  It's not like there are ever more than 15 teams w legitimate top 10 claims.

Good thing the selection committee ignores it. Maybe I will.
