Uhhhh, USC went 4-8 last year.  Just FYI.

Are you betting on 1 the 3 of Baylor, Florida or Ok St to win,  or do you have to pick 1?

I wouldn't lay any actual money on them but if I had to pick one of the above it would be either USC or Texas.  Both teams always recruit well so there should be an abundance of talent available and if they can just get everyone playing together and to their own potential they could suddenly be NC Caliber.

I agree with medina, I think to win it you HAVE to have elite and near elite talent, before all else.  It starts with that.  A lot more is involved obviously, but a Kentucky or UCLA isn't going to win it because of talent.  And a lot of luck.

Yeah, we play in an actual football conference.

I mean nobody thinks any of these teams are going to do it, but Texas A&M and USC brought in the most talent, and USCs is more experienced, and had an easier path

I'll also add that this is especially true in the CFP era. To win the NC today your last two games will necessarily be against TOUGH competition. You might get lucky and draw a Cincy in the penultimate game but probably not and if you make the CG you are going to face elite talent.

On top of that, nearly everyone faces a league title game as well. In the old days a Kentucky or UCLA might win their league partially through lucky scheduling or pulling off a singular upset but now you are probably going to face elite talent in your third-to-last game as well.

A team without elite talent can obviously beat a team with elite talent, it happens. That said, the chances of it happening in three consecutive games are less than remote.

I like Miami at those odds.
