Yes Texas fired David Pierce.

I have no doubt that Texas AD Chris del Conte has approached both Vitello and Schloss, he'd be bad at his job if he didn't.

No clue as to whether or not anything has been decided.

It was a tough question to answer in the moment, having just lost the national championship-deciding-game by one run.

But the truth is, the deal had been wrapped up for weeks, so he definitely SHOULD have prepared a better response.  A quick "not gonna talk about that right now, just here to talk CWS baseball" would have shut it down.
