UT Football

I really can’t watch Tennessee football anymore.

It’s just TOO frustrating and depressing.

We have developed a tradition of mediocrity.  And of having the most bizarre, upside down turn of events possible.  Or even imaginable.  Routinely.  And injuries, injuries, injuries.

I don’t understand it.  How long does this curse last?

The field goal return was the last straw.  Joy, celebration — wait; flag.  Great.

Okay.  No TD.  We’ll take it 10 yards from the spot of the foul. Damn.

What?  Off-setting penalties?  How do you block in the back, when the other team has the ball?

Replay the down?  So they get the ball back, AFTER the change of possession?  Because THEY effed up?  Punt.  Downed at the one.

So freakin’ typical.

A 100-yd. (125 or150, really, counting the punt), 6-point, change of possession penalty.

The harshest in football history.

It’s right up there with being at the one-yard line against Bama.  And JG changes the play to a sneak.  Scoop and score for them.

Or Pig Howard losing possession in mid-air, two inches from the goal line, in OT against UGA.  Ball rolls through the end zone, out of bounds.

UGA ball.  At the UT 25.

Two inches.  Loss of possession, and 75 yards of real estate.

Unbelievable.

I cannot imagine a game this year that I will be interested in watching.

Sorry —that’s just the way it is.  I keep waiting for a change.  But there never is one.

When was the last time anything positive happened with UT football?  The comeback win against mighty Indiana?  A year and a half ago?

Whee.

At this point, I can’t imagine seeing a full upper deck at Neyland again.  Not in the foreseeable future (and who knows how long that future is?).  My advice is to go with chair back seats throughout the stadium.  Bring attendance down to a manageable 80K or so.

End of rant.

Just getting it off my chest.

Much the same way you have always shunned science when you didn't like its results.

Too bad there aren't websites you can link that site an alternate outcomes for the games.  www.maketennesseegreatagain.com.

I can't respond in context and I am going to ignore the many things I ignore in science (example - when life begins) just so I can show my ass

You’re a peculiar little fellow, aren’t ya?

Don’t you have some reading to do?

You know about as much about science — or anything else — as you do theology.  Which is “ozro — and that’s lower than a zero” (according to my Jr. High football coach).

Now tell us how the God of the Bible made man to look like him again…?

(Where’s that “bwahahahah” emoji?)

I am with you OU. I listened to part of the game on the radio while working on the car. Losing is easier via radio.

Certainly not much to cheer about is sooooo long. The last 3-4 coaches- each worse than his predecessor? TN seems to be snake-bitten. My dad told me that the sun didn't shine on the same dog's ass every day. Well seems Bama has gotten all the sun and TN none for as long as I can remember.

Went to the game - maybe 70,000 there. Traffic wasn't an issue.
There is talk that they are going to take the seats in rows 1-20 in sections U & T and make it a club section.  $4,600 per seat plus ticket price.  That's about $700 per seat per game.

I think that UT hasn't gone far enough.  Set a minimum price of $250 per seat anywhere in the stadium.  No need to have more than 4,000 to 5,000 attend the game.

I never bothered, but a friend bought a beer at the game last week.  He waited 48 minutes to buy a beer for $13.  This is good news.....for liquor stores.  What better incentive for people to buy half pints and airplane bottles and smuggle them into the game just like old times...  The entire experience is overpriced for an underwhelming product.

I think Heupel might get it turned around.  A few bone-headed plays and hard to win when you turn the ball over 3 times and they turn it over 0.  And what did we have - 130+ yards in penalties?

But UT's attitude is putting a lot of fans out of the ticket business.   Why bother?  Simply tailgate with friends in front of a big screen in the comfort of your own home at a fraction of the price with ticket prices at zero and beers at -90% off the price at the stadium.....with nicer toilets and better views of the game.

The UT Athletic Department has lost the plot.

My sister and brother-in-law offered their tickets yesterday, but we had a lots going on this weekend and didn't take them.

The last game we attended was the GA game before COVID. Bad experience. GA fans bought up much of the stadium. Unfortunately we were sitting directly behind two very obnoxious Dawgs. The tickets came with a garage parking spot. We didn't get out of Knoxville until 1 AM.

Joe needs to put more loft on his deep throws so that his receivers can run under his throws.  As of now, he might as well throw it into the bleachers immediately after the snap.

We have a coach that inherited an empty roster. We lost 30 scholarship players to the transfer portal and also inherited a team under NCAA doghouse.
We lose to an experienced team loaded with 5th ,6th and even a couple of 7th year seniors thats had the same coach and system for 4 years and we already have fair weather fans wanting to jump ship
After the first loss.
Some sound advice...cheer for Bama and you'll always be happy.........until they lose a game.
