last year they played the second toughest schedule in the nation..... it's time for a still youngish team to gain some confidence.  the schedule is good.

I can see 7 pretty likely wins there, perhaps more.

Let's figure the Vols are improved in Year two, which is reasonable, and the win the first 3 games.  BYU might be a test, but not if the Vols are improved.  Maybe they can't hang with UF and UGA, and perhaps MSU even at home makes them 3-3.  South Carolina at home and then UAB should get them to 5-4.  Then the season starts, in a sense, with @UK, @Mizzou, and Vandy.  Beat Vandy and there's a bowl game, at least, and split the other two, to reach 7-5.

I think there is a decent shot at 8-4.

Not a lot of experience on the line on either side of the ball but some very talented youngsters

President Harry S. Truman said: “The fundamental basis of this nation’s laws was given to Moses on the Mount.  The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings…  If we don't have the proper fundamental moral background, we will finally wind up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in rights for anybody except the state.”

i'm thinking 8-4 is a bit optimistic, but likely where many fans are expecting the season to end.  if they get past UF with a win they have the potential to upset UGA, though i wouldn't bet on either.

MissSt is the interesting game that ought to show us what UT is really about, and if they believe in themselves.  it's a bit of a sandwich game between expected losses, and we should know how well the coaching staff is about preparation and maintaining the teams focus before heading to bama and an almost certain loss... don't get me wrong it's still a rivalry and strange things have happened in the series....... I wager they will play this one close, and if there is to be an upset this season for UT, it'll happen here... yup, I said it...  before you lose your anchor in your seat, though, realize this: Bama is coming off the road against aTm, and they will be sleepwalking into this game, the off week they play arky, and the off week before tying into LSU, which ought to be the SEC-W 'game of the season' this year.  the only thing that could make the setting better is if they were playing LSU directly after UT.

UT yeah!
