Yeah, too many of their fans are classless trash. The Vols have some trash fans as well. I have a policy to never talk trash after a win. Never have, never will. You’ll never find me on another teams chat board or YT channel after a big win talking smack. It’s classless.
The Vols aren’t close to OSU, Georgia, or Oregon in terms of NIL money spent (talent). The Vols hover around $11 mil to $12 mil while the other 3 schools mentioned above hover around $20 mil to $24 mil NIL. Not to mention the Vols OC is garbage, the OL coach is garbage, and the WR coach is garbage. Bank’s, the DC is serviceable but not top tier. His stats are built on mediocre and bottom feeding teams. He’s never had a great game against a great team. On the defensive side of ball, Willie has to go. His secondary is horrible. They never turn around for the ball. Instead they run into the WR’s like blind robots and it’s frustrating. It’s sad when the best secondary player was initially a walk on.
I think too many Vol fans got excited after the OSU loss to Michigan and thought too highly of the matchup. Instead the OSU team was on fire and the Vols seemed like they really didn’t take the game seriously.
The biggest thing I see on both sides of ball is the lack of true leadership and accountability. Not one player on either side is 1/10th of the leader Al Wilson was. Both sides need a player that will step up, get in the faces of the players not performing and put the fear of God in them. Both sides are too passive. Laughing and having a great time while getting their asses handed to them. It’s pathetic and the main reason why I no longer waste my money to go to a game anymore. I’m not spending $500 to $1000 to travel and watch the Vol crap the bed. They’re frustrating enough to watch at home in my recliner. I don’t need the extra aggravation of classless opposing fans rubbing a loss in my face. I don’t have the patience and tolerance for that.
Until Heupel grows a set and fires his OL coach, WR coach, and secondary coach, the Vols will never sniff a championship win.
