One of my sources says that since Heupel recruited Milton out of hs and then brought him here Heupel is trying to get him into the nfl. Nico has been ready and played at a hs that is probably more advance that all but the top 30 dI programs. Nico has been ready
Nico needed weight and muscle so he could better absorb the blows. He was banged up and gimpy after playing one of the earlier patsy's.

President Harry S. Truman said: “The fundamental basis of this nation’s laws was given to Moses on the Mount.  The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings…  If we don't have the proper fundamental moral background, we will finally wind up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in rights for anybody except the state.”

According to 247Sports, the Vols' roster breaks down as follows:

5-stars: 2
4-stars: 33
3-stars: 52
(Note: Tennessee's two five-star players are quarterback Nico Iamaleava, who is in a backup role, and wide receiver Bru McCoy, who is out for the season due to injury.)

Georgia's roster breaks down as follows:

5-stars: 13
4-stars: 54
3-stars: 22

There's obviously a massive gap in talent between the two programs (and really, the gap is bigger than it looks because many of Tennessee's four-star players are freshmen who either haven't played this season or have seen very little action).
Vols head coach Josh Heupel basically said after the game on Saturday that closing the gap comes down to adding more talent to roster.
"We still gotta continue to take steps," said Heupel after the loss to Georgia. "That’s in what we’re doing as a program. It’s our personnel, the depth of our program."

another 10-20 of muscle would do him good.

I think they were going to play him more, but other games we should have won by wider margins never materialized. Hence plans changed

Massive amounts of talent makes you a great coach.
This is Georgia's golden age. They have everything.  A great campus.  Great college town.  Mountains nearby, not too far from the coast... Atlanta next door...

Growing up a Georgian, I went to Athens a bunch.  Had a blast every time.  Played at the 40 Watt club...

They've got an alumni as coach.  And he's a good coach.  And great recruiter.  And nobody has an easier recruiting task than the Georgia coach.  Georgia's flooded with talent.  And now he can pick and choose nationally as well.

They're gonna be Alabama for awhile.  We got our work cut out for us.

And who is responsible for recruiting those five stars?

The QB is the team leader and everyone responds to how he plays even the defense.

Those two are saying the same thing I have said previously.  Heupel recruited Milton in HS he then signed him from Michigan and was going to play him regardless until he got hurt. Hooker made him look great so everyone thought he was a football genius but he isn't.  Heuple has let his arrogance over come his intelligence he continued to play Milton trying to prove he was smarter than everyone else but he was proven to be wrong.

This is Heupel's third year so the excuses of depth, injuries, young and inexperienced is on him. That's the same crap we've heard from Johnny Majors, Fulmer to all the others up to Heupel when they have bad seaosns.

The portal was full of good players but he chose not to after a quality QB and others to add depth to the team. And keeping coaches like Martinez and Banks when the secondary has been the weak point from his first game is another big mistake. Banks coaches safeties and Martinez coaches corner backs in the worst secondary in the SEC and has been for three years. They couldn't cover the field with a tarp.

All this is on Heuple he's the one who gets paid to make decisions from who plays to who he hires as assistants and from what I've seen he is way over paid for the product he puts on the field.
If everyone is thinking alike then somebody isn't thinking.

If this class holds together we will add at least 2 more five stars and several four stars.
Saw a good synopsis of his recruiting on another board.

I repeated what the announcers said and what some news agencies have reported, DS.
I heard the announcers say it but I can't find a news agency reporting it.  I have seen where a college coach from the Big 10 (forget which one) said that they expect an announcement on the rule in mid-December (after the final regular season game).

Missouri turned out a lot better than nearly anyone expected.  The L at Florida is a mystery, but obviously teams can play poorly on the road at times.  Winning at Tloosa looked like a long shot and Tenn ran into a peaking UGA team.  In a more normal year, they'd more likely bt 9-3 or 10-2.

Even so, a bowl game win is possible (depending) and 9-4 obviously isn't  terrible after all the losses and injuries.

(One projection has them in the Gator playing UNC for all such guesses are worth.)

Milton has always been cjh's pick.  Without an injury last year we'd not know who Hendon hooker was...

My guess is he practices well.  He folds under pressure. It's a microcosm of richt at uga- "perpetually just one adjustment or one tiny break away from legend" and to the point it seems like greater madness to abandon than work through.

I mentioned it in the shoutbox... watch the line when Milton is sacked or when a good play is made- they do not rally to him.  They seem to not care too much for him, in my opinion... that speaks volumes.  Chemistry is damn important in this sport and especially at the college level- and UT doesn't have it.

Milton takes all the bene's from that role- acting as he does with the theatrics and talking the shit he does in the pressers- but he doesn't produce.  It's that simple.

The part I can't understand- and it's obvious on field when he tries to check out of a play and the coaches call a time out or interrupt his decision some other way- that also speaks volumes.... they don't trust his sight... which begs the hell out of the question "if you don't trust him, why is he in there?".....

I've watched every game except uga multiple times... the team is going through the motions more than anything- and so does the coaching staff... not saying they're not trying, but saying they're not trying as hard as they could. .... I get coaches have expectations their employer gives them- and depending on the agreement they have seasons circled as the ones "we'll make it X far here" and they're held to it... it may just be CJH saw this season as down and all he's been really doing is tooling and hoping for next season or the one after?  .... all in all, though, four losses isn't bad... especially when two of them are to bama at bama and uga who may be one of the best teams of all time.  Mizzou and UF hurt- and I blame Milton's play in both of them (and officiating at florida).
