Whee dawgy week five
« on: September 29, 2024, 12:22:00 AM »
Is wrapping up, and what a day of the foozball(it's of the debil!)

That QB and that young receiver at Bama are freaking spectacular.

UGA can beat anyone.. and themselves. All that arrogance comes to roost when they half (okay, three quarter) step with a worthy opponent. I'd hate to have to play them later.... (uh.. wait a minute..)

I gotta hand it to OU- they didn't quit... they didn't cry.. they at no point were bangin on all eight cylinders, but they still found a very unlikely win.

UK proves, again, O gets all the looks, while D brings home the hardware.

aTm cleans up and holds on to beat arky.. and though yall will think this funny- arky is going to upset someone this year.  That was a good tamu win though it was never in real question between the bells.

I'm still in a bit of shock that UGA fell behind so badly just to take the lead late and hold it for.... seven seconds game time.  Bobo's play calling and the D being lackadaisical on the first two drives caused this.  I don't think they ran once during their first two possessions.  Why?  ...arrogance is all i can guess.  I "get" most first drives are scripted before the game, but.... when the D is covering as tightly as they were (and not being called) the only reason not to run is straight arrogance... at the very least it opens coverage a little.

SEC officiating was on prominent display again.  Auburn in Jordan hare will always get the calls- they did today.  I told my buddy the only certain way to beat AU at home is to BEAT them at home and take the swing away from the zebras.  OU pulled it off- something not common and on their first experience there.

Bama was all over UGA receivers.  UGA got called for several PIs that were phantom OR nothing beyond what Bama was doing to them.

It cost one team a game, while the other narrowly escaped.

Texas better tighten up.  MSU is somewhere in the 20% range of what the top teir of the league can do this year.  They've looked good thus far, but.... if they don't tighten up I could see them dropping two games.

My fellers had a good day too... they should bump up a spot in one poll and hold in the other significant poll all while they were watching hulu and eating twinkies.  They may even bump up in both polls depending on how unimpressed voters are with Georgia's arrogance.

For sure.  Texas had a historically bad day.  It's a good thing it happened against a terrible team and the Horns still managed to cruise to a comfortable victory.

Thanks, Drew!
Our top 5 WRs were out with injuries.
We haven't had the same lineup on the OL from one quarter to the next, and our top 3 OLs are out.
From the middle of the 1st quarter to the middle of the 4th quarter, Auburn was the decidedly better team. But all 60 minutes have to be played.

They almost proved that last week with the 13-12 loss to Georgia last week.

It was shocking. The huge Bama lead, the big UGA comeback, the 75-yard TD for Bama to regain the lead. And then UGA's final attempt. Great theater.

Yeah, there were a few puzzling calls in the fairest city on the plains yesterday. I figure it's "welcome to the SEC."

I saw two very obvious cases of DPI--the Bama DB running in to the UGA WR without ever turning his head to track the ball. Neither were called, and the official was right there both times.
