One of the games that is going to be intriguing to me this weekend is South Carolina @ Missouri.
First conference game of the year and both coming in 1-0.

This game is liable to have 100 points scored in it.

Of the 4 big games Saturday night, I like Ohio State big (over 2 tds), USC and UGA medium (10-14) and Auburn by the skin of their paws.

Florida cancels a game due to a hurricane for the 2nd straight year.  Cost us a 10th win last year.

I understand that a lot of Georgia fans...especially the UGA Alumni clubs in some of the big cities around the country...got special tour packages from various travel agencies for the Notre Dame game today.  Since most of them would be flying into Chicago, a lot of the tour packages included a Cubs game on Friday night.

In a very nice show of class, the Cubs invited Vince Dooley to throw out the first pitch.  Apparently there were a lot of Dawg fans there, and they just barked up a storm.  Best of all, Coach Dooley threw the pitch to Cubs pitcher Justin Grimm, a former Bulldog.

And to my great surprise, Coach Dooley actually THREW the ball...instead of just running it up the middle.

Really enjoying the UGA-ND game.  I thought Mike Tirico died thought.  I'm not confusing him with John Saunders, I know he definitely died.  Who am I thinking of?  I honestly thought it was Tirico.

As expected, the UGA defense is nasty fast and makes a lot of PF errors.  The Dawg O is, well, not great.

Glad of course to have the win especially with 35,000 Dawg fans paying insane ticket prices to be there.  That was an impressive showing.

The fan base is hungry.

It strikes me that several SEC teams have really good Ds and really mediocre Os.

USCe looked good... it was hard to tell what kind of O Mizzou had though, from the week prior.

UGA is likely the favorite in the east at this point, no?  I'm thinking it's between them and USCe, with outside chance of UF finding some O.  UT could possibly be in the bottom outside of that mix, too, but they haven't really done anything to truly impress me- they have a good stable of backs, and a decent QB in QD.  What about vandy?  They've had two solid outings, now.  It doesn't explain to us anything other than that by my reckoning.

Auburn did a great job of holding Clemson... not good enough, but good.  that may be the lowest score they get this season.  Clemson, that is... Auburn still has to play Bama and LSU- they may be held to 6 again... It's hard to tell anything about LSU other than they played with their food again for a spell... then went to work.  It's not that Bama lopsided Fresno, it's that they did it without any effort or without breaking a sweat.

UF and UT coming up- if it isn't rescheduled.  It may be rescheduled... and if it is, any advantage UT got from any bleed-over suspensions or rust on UF will be negated.  For the first time in a long time i can say this game won't have the conference champion playing going into it.  obviously i speak more to UF than UT- you'd have to go back to the nineties to where this game decided the east or had national implications.

Ehhh, Florida won the East last year with the 105th offense in the country, so I wouldn't start throwing Carolina above us just yet.

The shitty part of all this is that pre-Tennessee, all Florida has gotten is a crap-fest against a strong Michigan team and nothing else.  No tune-up.  No cupcake to get playing time for backups or to try out different things on offense.

This might retard our whole season.

'fro, i watched that UF D against Michigan... when they flashed their brilliance, they were amazing- and absolutely capable of carrying the O to Atlanta.  I'm NEVER one to scoff at UF.  I DON'T know that USCe is that good, either... they've played a NCST that is supposed to be good, and they beat up a Mizzou that had a hellacious game offensively the week prior.. they beat them both, but they've shown flaws, too.

UGA playing Fromm came out a lot better than I expected... but to be honest I expected Chubb and co. to run without resistance from the Irish... I was surprised the ND D played as well as they did, all things withstanding- and I DON'T think it was UGA faltering, but instead that ND has a pretty decent squad.

Well I've got 2 things -

1 - the FL-GA game last year, UGA's offense made ours look like Oregon's
2 - Fromm was very composed, which was impressive, BUT held the ball too much

Stuart Scott?
Don't know of anyone else.  Chris Berman's wife just died.  Maybe you heard that without paying attention and could have misinterpreted it as him.  But probably not.
