Tennessee looked really good by my reckoning. Joey is a huge upgrade over Nico. Nico, who I watched later, took that same vibe with him to UCLA- looking lethargic, indecisive, and with an air of wonder why the defense just doesn't fall at his feet in defeat at his very name. amazing how ESPN lowered the Vols in their FPI rankings? Sorta like how they broke from the game to shift over to Bama's shame er uh 'game'... and how the recently acquired five stars will no doubt be downgraded to two or three stars before the week just because they chose the Vols. the bias is real... even the announcers, as i mentioned in the shout box, were pro 'cuse most the game even as they were being manhandled.
UF is hard to tell- they played a literal lower tier juco team.
Marshall is not much clear of that distinction, but UGA handled them easily.
Bama needs to re-tune and remember who they were... that arrogant coach isn't the one. they absolutely don't deserve to be in the top 25.. .maybe the top 40... maybe... FSU isn't that good and still managed to body slam them at will. the real question is how long does that coach last? i think i read his buyout is north of $60M.... the bammers will more than likely pull together, sell a few yard ornament cars for scrap, register a few lawsuits against rivals, and come up with the $$ by November to send that clown back out west. he's that bad, by my reckoning... and I love it. let them feel what UT felt after the debacle they endured for 20 years.
why all the USCe love? they struggled until late with a flopping about VT team... Shane Beamer is a pale shadow of what his father was, and most of that shadow is lost to ethics and integrity.
ahhhh and then Texas and that QB who I forget his name.... i'm thinking that game was overly harsh on him, and I mean that. Sure he could have made better decisions, but that's easy to say from the lazyboy. real time, and from his vantage if you can imagine, he was in an almost impossible situation. It causes me great pain to say it, but tOSU IS 'all that'. They'll make many teams O's look like that this season. that said, i think Texas bought into their own hype, too... they've never heard of rat poison.
