We haven't played them much, but we only managed a 2-7 record against them through 1991, the last time we played them until recently. FSU entered a prolonged period of Suck in which an average LSU team of the same period should have been able to whip them, but unfortunately both games coincided with Brian Kelly's never-ending ability to botch opening day contests in the most embarrassing fashion possible.
I think one of those FSU teams actually was undefeated and controversially left out of the playoffs. Still, I'm talking on average. And anyway, anyone who saw the game understood that all LSU needed was a top 60 defense and they'd have won. Just don't be the absolute worst in the country. But of course, we were, and FSU was one of several games that Jayden Daniels and two of the best WRs we ever had were wasted just because they couldn't score TDs on every single drive....which would've been required to win. Truly. iirc, LSU stopped FSU on their opening possession, and then FSU scored TDs every drive for the rest of the game. A trend that continued throughout that season.
Ugh. I hate FSU.
And LSU's defense.
