That no-hitter benefitted them.  I imagine that left them with a lot of arms for options.

Well sure but even absent the no-hitter, having both potential opponents delayed and burning extra arms, was good for them and bad for both UCLA and LSU.

Yeah.  I hope Ark/UCLA goes to 15 innings and then gets weather-delayed until tomorrow morning to finish at 19 innings :)

We need to find a way to win tomorrow.  Eyanson could probably come back for a Thursday game, but he'd be shot for the Finals.  otoh, if we can win without using him again, both Anderson and Eyanson would be right on schedule for Finals appearances, and they are a tough combo.

Or we could just Ben McDonald these guys into shoulder oblivion.

"Why are you whining about 'But coach, I just threw 115 pitches last night?'  Get yer ass back out there and close this game out.  And don't forget we need you to start again tomorrow so make it quick."

Ugh, the Hogs have to beat LSU 2 times in a row to advance to the CWS... LSU has been Van Horn's kryptonite in Omaha 0-2.
Well, at least we'll have a SEC team in the CWS no matter what.

We call that the old Cliff Gustafson Special down here in these parts.

Who?

Used to be a thing.  Then they started taking on scrub schools and nobody really pays attention anymore.

I will say, it's obvious at this point that Arkansas is cursed.  So many weird things and bad luck in Omaha.

But I like this final series, it should be a lot of fun.  Wishing the best of luck to my good buddy MDT, even though I also secretly don't want LSU to put any more distance between themselves and Texas wrt NCs.

But that's our fault, not LSU's. We've squandered numerous opportunities.

Well, somebody's gotta try and catch USC.  If Texas is gonna go dormant for 20 years, we'll have to see what we can do.

2017 still hurts, and destroyed my faith that LSU will always win in the Finals.  And 2016 still haunts me in this one, which is when the Chanticleers beat us in our own house.

I'm not sure I'd exactly say "dormant."  The Horns have made it to Omaha 5 times since the last NC, including the final series against your Geaux Tigers in 2009.

But certainly, hobbled and less effective.  Pierce was a pretty good coach, but pretty good doesn't win the CWS.

I just meant piling up CWS titles and catching USC.  It irks me that they're so far ahead in 1st place.  Somebody needs to dethrone them.  I have some solace in knowing they don't appear to be in danger of winning any more.
