Prediction Review
« on: January 04, 2023, 02:52:10 PM »
I don't find making thorough predictions, whether game-by-game or season-long, a useful pursuit.  20 year olds make that a fool's errand, imo.
.
But I had 3 predictions for the season, which were pretty general.  I got 2 right and 1 wrong.
.
I didn't think USC would parlay all their transfer portal guys into a huge turnaround like they did.  I was completely wrong about the Trojans this year.
.
I thought Arkansas would struggle this year, for 2 reasons.  One, they weren't used to being the predator, just the prey.  I've observed teams rise up and then fall back, and this is one reason why.  They're initially layups no one cares about when the schedule is set in front of them, but after a good season, opponents take them seriously and spank them back down the totem pole.
Two, WR Burks was a true difference-maker for them in 2021 and he was gone.
Arkansas wasn't very good, and I feel like I got that right.
.
I also felt the same way about Kentucky.  They also went 3-5 in conference, as Arkansas did.  They were probably better than Arkansas, but they did not meet their preseason publicity.
