Napier's Florida

Obviously these up and comers who have never proven anything at a major level are unknown quantities and have bust potential.  That said...

I'm on record that I think it was a good hire and I think it was a mistake for LSU to not even consider him.  Now Corey Raymond has left LSU and will be joining the Florida staff.  Raymond has been LSU's secondary coach for the last 10 seasons, is a spectacular recruiter, and imo the best DBs coach in the business.  In 10 seasons at LSU he's overseen 7 first-team All-Americans in the secondary and 14 players who were drafted (most of whom are beasts at the next level).  That doesn't even include Patrick Peterson, Morris Claiborne, and Tyrann Mathieu, who started off LSU's incredible run of DBs, all of whom left prior to Raymond coaching here.  He definitely kept that train rolling.

This is a big deal for Florida.  He can recruit and coach.  Between him and Napier, they are going to be getting some Louisiana kids.

I'm liking this less and less.

Well, obviously.

I'm just not betting on it happening.

A team's first choice at HC is less likely to fail than their 17th choice.

Well why haven't you guys done that since Urban left?

Sounds simple.

None of our hires got caught with McDonalds bags of money WHILE losing, lol.

In 10 days of recruiting, he pulled a longtime ND commit, the top safety in the country, and got a top 20 prospect to re-commit.  Not bad.

I see UF lost last night, which really only means they ended 6-7.  Napier I think needs to change some "culture" things, as well as recruiting.  I think he largely will.
