I don't believe I ever claimed the schedule was weak in the first place, and I'm not sure if anybody else on *this* board said as much either.  I did feel like out of all possible scenarios, UT may have had the easiest path to the SEC CCG, but that was based on pre-season notions and in fact they are still well within the realm of possibility to achieve that.

I find it odd that he's been signed on with ESPN and his 'voice' raised/face on TV so much.

His radio show didn't gain in popularity because of him, but because of the utter nutjobs that would call into it.  It was never about him, yet he reaped the rewards ($$$).

Shrug.

I hardly ever watched him or listenend to him.  The few times I did, it SEEMED like he was all about Alabama first, then maybe Auburn, but definitely "Old Guard" SEC teams (UGa, Tennessee).

That's fair.  It was the common refrain among mediots and other general fans.

As far as the SEC championship, I guess it's numerically possible still, but watching this team, we're almost halfway through the season and this team really just is what it is.  Even when they're not losing games, they're looking pretty weak even in wins against bad competition.

One of the multitude of YouTube talkers--Josh Pate, I think--was predicting a Florida win. He thought that it was a perfect trap game for Texas, given that the game was in the Swamp, that Florida would play better than it had so far, and that the Red River Shootout was a week away.
On further review, I believe that the YouTube talker was Joel Klatt.

Pate picked Florida to win, even though his 'system' had Texas by 5.

I had a list of all the teams A&M has never played and I have forgotten who they are.  I think Wisconsin is on the list, there’s only about 5-6 teams (D1) total.
I think that there are five P4 teams OU has never played: Georgia Tech, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Purdue, and Rutgers. We hadn't played USC-E until last year. I reckon we will play Mississippi State next year.

I thought that I remembered that he did.

But it was Klatt whom I saw make the case for the trap game.

You know, thinking about it, OF COURSE YOU DID.

But I would swear that I heard one of the pregame announcers say that Texas and Florida had never played each other. Maybe he said, "before last year" and I missed it.

Sorry for my error.

You are not wrong.  I heard the broadcasters say at least twice that Texas and Florida hadn't played since {insert whatever way-back year here}.  I commented to my wife that Florida had traveled to DKR just last year, so I guessed they were meaning before this "series," or before Texas' jump to the SEC, or some other qualifying delineator.

But they definitely said it more than once, either wrongly, or misleadingly.

Thanks, Mike! It feels good to know that I might not be crazy.
