I'm hoping the Dawgs will do the same after losing duos with Texas, OU, UCLA.  They still have some years with Clemson, Ohio State, and Georgia Tech OOC.

Yup.  Since there are now so many bluebloods and near-blues in the SEC, the only way to get one on the OOC schedule is to schedule a B1G team or ND.

We play Ohio State the next two years 25/26, then the return game against Michigan in 2027, and then ND in 28/29.

It does cut way down on near elite OOC scheduling options.

PSU
OSU
UM
ND

Clemson
FSU???
Miami???

I'd like to see Wisconsin, Nebraska, North Carolina come up someday.  Does Texas come to Athens next year?

Yup.  Next year's SEC schedule is just the mirror image of this year's.  So the Horns will travel to Athens, Gainesville, Lexington, and Starkvegas, and get the pigs and ags at home.

And most importantly, Vanderbilt at home.

...which is kind of what will happen in the playoffs anyway, so what's the point anymore?

Big intersectional matchups of OOC bluebloods during the early regular season are fun.  And now that 1 loss doesn't kill you, there's more reason than ever to schedule them.  Plus the athletic departments and TV partners love them because they make way more money than games against cupcakes.

I think the big OOC games UGA has played are pretty special, and I would live watching Texas playing ND, etc.  UGA has a big one Saturday against UM.

I agree, but a major part of the allure of watching my team schedule big OOC games over the years was the fact we almost certainly wouldn't see them in the post-season.  It gave us a chance to play teams that we hardly ever get to.  The way the cfb landscape is set up now, if you're a blue-blood scheduling a blue-blood, you're likely going to see them in the post-season, have recently seen them in the post-season, or will shortly see them in the post-season.  It necessarily makes regular season ooc matchups less special.

......of course, my team still almost certainly won't see major blue-bloods in the post-season, for entirely different reasons.  In our case it's good we got to lose to a team like USC in the opener, because we won't get a chance to lose to a team like USC in the post-season.

Some BBs these days are not all that BB, but still have the name.

Oklahoma
USC
Michigan (this year)
Nebbie

They look good on your OOC slate.

I mean, Michigan JUST won the NC last year.  Seems a bit hasty to yank their BB status after one bad year.

I don't criticize conference slates because you have zero control ostensibly.
