Topic: Does this happen to you? Remembering unremarkable seasons

With college football approaching soon, I started reflecting on last season. I suddenly realized that I really don't remember much about it other than we were mediocre. I do remember we fired our coach. I remember our QB went down with an injury. I don't remember what bowl game we played, and I don't remember if we beat LSU (I do know we won the year before). I know we lost to Miami and Bama, and beat Miss State. I recall that we played Bama really close, and there was a bad play call at the very end of the game.  Lost to Ole Miss.

I used to remember almost every game, what the scores were, what bowl game we went to, if we won or lost. In my late 40's now, and obviously there is not that much to remember about the season so maybe I'm just over-reacting?

On the other hand, A&M has had so many mediocre to bad seasons over the last 20 years maybe I'm just getting apathetic? Now I'm going to have to go refresh my memory.

Just checked, we did lose to LSU but I really didn't remember much about the game. Played Okie St in the bowl game, lost.

Glad that's settled, now I can focus on another mediocre season for 2024 !

I dimly recall the mediocre eras, since I was cognizant of CFB. I tend to recall more clearly the years where my team won a major bowl game, or two.

The Richt era wasn't really mediocre, but it was tiringly not elite.

Memory jogger.

You lost to the Vols too.

The Vols have had so many unremarkable, to God-awful, seasons over the last 15 years --- and unfortunately, I recall almost every agonizing moment.

Be thankful for a slipping mind.

Yeah I don't recall a lot of specific details from Texas' seasons from 2010 to 2022. A couple highlights, a couple lowlights, and the rest all just runs together.

It's either advancing age, or a defense mechanism. Either way, I'm thankful.

This was a remarkable unremarkable season for me.

11 Games

Lose your first three OOC games and then one more to "ACC" teams and then come within one win late of going to the Sugar Bowl. They were even leading Auburn near halftime as I recall.
