Damn. Bama is just making UGA look silly now. I would not have thought Bama would be kicking their ass so hard. And I really wanted UGa to win. I’m tired of Bama. How could they look so average against LSU and Auburn, get beat by a mediocre A&M, then just dominate Georgia?

The GOAT.  He fixed their oline.  Damn him.

I stand by my statement bama lacked focus and that is easy to recover... we watched FSU do it every season for a decade under bowden- except they did it in games and not across a season.  They'd look mediocre for two and a half quarters, just to open a can of spinach that lasted a quarter and a half.... the only question was "which" quarter and a half?

Lot more RPOs and different assignments for the backs than recent weeks.  Some interwebz rumors that playcalling duties were taken away from BOB...sounds sketchy, but you could almost understand such a thought.

Also, somebody needs to ID their OL to make sure that's the same guys.

Also, OAM picks Georgia in a rout. Has he ever been right about anything? Damn, I feel good.

I loved being wrong!

Also, what have I been wrong about?  I don't really make a habit of predictions, because predicting what a group of 20 year olds will do is a fool's errand.

That was obviously unexpected.  Maybe we get another shot?  I doubt it would be much different.

A few comments; Alabama held Georgia to 110 yards on 30 carries which I think was critical in turning the game into a Bennett V Young passing contest. Bama actually had slightly more yards on the ground.

Bennett threw for 340 yards but the two ints were critical. He should have had another pick six when Battle dropped an int early in the game.

Alabama lost John Metchie, one half of its dynamic pass duo, to an ACL. That could be a fatal blow to title expectations.

Ohio State must be frigging bananas to let Jameson Williams go. I know they have great receivers in Olave and a couple others, but none of them is going to catch Jameson Williams in a footrace.

In reality the loss means nothing toward Georgia's chances for a NC. They have the same opportunity to win it as if they had won the game. Do not despair.

PS Our basketball then beat Gonzaga in Seattle.

Bama rattled Bennet in a bad way early.  it's a REALLY bad sign when the QB is chewing on his playmakers when it is he who is rattled at least more so.  he made some bad decisions... to be clear, he made some bad decisions because that's all Alabama gave him as an option.

UGA was just plain beat and in every aspect.  that freshman TE went unanswered especially when matched on To'To'tooo'oootooo... he (To'oTo'o) is a very good run-block LB but he shows the same weakness in assignment coverage he showed when at UT.  However, it's hard to tell from just a couple encounters in that game if it is the talent of the TE or the lack of skill from To'oTo'o...  either way, that TE in the middle was the only leverage UGA had over the Bama D.

i gotta also offer this- it's a different game watching those who are 'REALLY' good at it going at it.  it's my opinion, however, the depth of extreme talent on the coaching staff was on display in one instance and evidenced in two plays.  this is almost exclusive to bama, imHo, as they're likely the only program in the game that has such a collection of extreme talent, extreme development, and extreme tacticians in the force.  the basis of this is the UGA TD where UGA fired from perhaps the 20yd... it was a very nicely designed play that allowed the receiver (a TE i 'think') to basically run behind the cover of a wall of OL.  That play, against any other team just about, could have been run over and over and to similar result- a guaranteed 20yd's a completion- the receiver only becoming available to tackle after he clears the 'wall'.

but this isn't just any D.

UGA tried to run it again later in the game and it was broken up before it developed and crammed.  Bama was looking for it.  Somebody spotted the 'tell' and engineered a response that freakin' fast and were worried enough about that play to put them on watch.  it's not that other teams wouldn't have ultimately done the same, but it IS that other teams would have needed a week to do so.

when Bama is fine tuned they are really REALLY something to watch and study, and the more they're studied the more impressive they are.... and I still hate 'em... but credit where it's due- the last decade of Bama is the best the game has to offer.
