How bad is UT's offense?
In seven games vs. the SEC they have scored in the 20's twice (UF and UK), between 11-20 once (Mizzou)and 10 or less 4 times. (one of them a shutout) (UGA-0, SC-9, Alabama-7, LSU-10)
compare to Vandy
They have scored in the 20's 4 times (UF, Ole Miss, SC, UK), 11-20 twice (UGA and Mizzou), and 10 or less 1 time (Alabama).
UT didn't reach 30 points in any SEC game so far this season.
Vandy did once. (Ole Miss)
Compare to some of the upper echelon teams like Alabama, Auburn, UGA.
Games under 20 points vs. SEC Defenses-1 (UGA (17) vs. Auburn)
Games with 21-30 Points-4
Games over 30 Points-17
Auburn failed to reach 30 points only 1 time vs. SEC defenses with one game to go
Alabama failed to reach 30 points twice (Texas A&M, LSU) with one game to go
UGA failed to reach 30 points twice (Auburn and South Carolina) SEC schedule complete.
Both defenses have been pretty awful this year, as well.
UT has allowed over 25 points in 6 out of 7 games
Vandy has allowed over 25 points in every SEC game. In fact, they have not held an SEC foe under 34 points all season
Compare to Alabama, Auburn and UGA have only allowed 4 teams to reach 25 points against them. (Alabama-0, Auburn-2, UGA-2)
What does this all mean? (probably nothing, but it was fun to pull all of these stats and I really can't believe i did for a game that means nothing)
Will both teams score at will because the other team can't stop anyone?
Or will the defenses look good because neither team can score on anyone?
