Podcast Working Now - link on my last post down-page!!!
« on: March 25, 2019, 01:43:09 PM »
I've been looking into doing a podcast about the history of college football.  It would be current-season topics and discussion mostly during the football season, but would run all year, focusing on the history in the off-season.  Perhaps getting old coaches on to talk, discussing certain seasons, like a 1981 episode or a 1999 Big Ten episode - those would possibly require some of us to contribute on-air.

Is anyone interested in co-hosting or contributing to an episode or two if I get it started?

As with my game, there's not much out there in terms of podcasts about college football history.  Football podcasts are about 90% NFL fantasy football, 3% NFL football, and 2% college football.  Most of the college football podcasts are by the national writer/talking head, lacking in-depth knowledge of this school or that school.  We could provide that better, I think.

You could just call in on the phone or skype or whatever - I tried the podcast software last night, and it picks up audio well.  I'd need some time to play with  the editing aspects, but it'd be ours, and we could plug this site all we wanted, get permission to tout the archive sites like the one from here or cfreference, etc.

I'd plug my game, once it's up and running.  I just think it'd be awesome to get Dick Tomey on (if he's still alive) to talk about the '93 Arizona run defense or talk with one of you about the best Wisconsin team of all time, things like that.

If you'd like to contact me and help me with getting familiar with the editing process by just talking football, let me know here.  This could be really exciting.

It's up!

It will take maybe a couple hours to get it up on all platforms, but give it a listen, if this link works at all.  ROUGH draft, trailer/introductory episode.
This is my first time ever trying this, and only took about an hour total to create it.  Plenty of room to improve - keep in mind.  Feedback is essential.

It's 25 min long.

Well, as mama always told me, "Boy, you got a face for radio and a voice for print."

So I don't think I'm much help :57:

I do think it would be cool if there are people here with some aptitude for hosting it.

Oh man. I hope that you actually sound like Cartman, like you do in my mind. Otherwise I will be quite disappointed.

LOL... I'm trying to get my wife to describe it, as I don't hear my own voice often. She's being really nice and saying it's not weird.
I've always hated my voice. To me it has a nasal quality that I can't stand. If I had to describe it, it might be a much deeper Ray Romano.

I meant Fro. Oddly enough I have heard your voice, bwarb, as I accidentally stumbled upon your you tube channel once, while searching out your blog that you've mentioned a few times here.

You were filming a hedgehog or a hermit crab or some such that had gotten loose from its cage.

I've been told that my brother and I both always sound like we just woke up.
