Scout was bought out of bankruptcy by CBSInteractive- aka 24/7 Sports in late January. The 'debtors server' agreement expired 30 June, and 24/7 announced their plans to collect all outlying webpages and put them under the same format around May. This 'format' will effectively eliminate the boards we're familiar with on Scout, and will look+operate as the current 24/7 boards do... the content from Scout will be abandoned, and the rules which regulate the board will be altered to 24/7's agreements.
we don't know how deep into Scout 24/7 will dive- they may cut-over every board, or they may cut-over only those which produce content (as in publish). We just don't know, and they won't share (because i don't think they know either, truth be told).
that's pretty much it in a nutshell. we've made a landing spot- and i intend to maintain it regardless of what some corporation does with their own property- this place is OUR property, and because of which we can do what we want to with it, and driven by the core group of posters/people we know.
