Radio guys here in Columbus were talking about Big Jim's 30 years as commish, and how the addition of Rutgers has stained his otherwise remarkable career.

Warren can start with a bang and get rid of the 5 newbies, while bringing Chicago back in the fold.

I tend to view heads of commissions as showmen, not power men, with exceptions in some cases where the showman also drives the committee decisions. It can be good to have a nice showman who really is more of a spokesman for what the heavy hitters decide in the back rooms.
The Head dude gets all the credit and criticism even if he is just a fancy PR person who smiles for cameras ...
