Phil Steele has Florida as his #1 Surprise team. His record on these is surprisingly (pun intended :) ) good. TOSU as #1 in 2000. Won NC. LSU as #2 in 2003. Won NC. Barn as #5 in 2010. Won NC. FSU #1 in 2013. Won NC. Washington was #1 in 2016. Lost to Bama in CFP.

All depends on the QB (whomever it is) and the CBs.

I believe you're good with whichever one Mac goes with.
-
I don't think SEC teams will have that many OOC losses this year.
-
i only count 11.
-
"Only" 11? I don't think it will be that many. How many real OOC games are there? 15? 16?
Many of those OOC games are "competitive" so you might expect closer to a 50-50 outcome.
-
So it's 45-11. Shameful that the SEC plays the same number (56) of OOC games as conference games.

sec had 12 reg season ooc losses last season.
2015 had 10 reg season ooc losses.
'14 had only 7.
'13 had 9.
'12 had 8
'11 had 6
10 had 7
keep in mind that 10 and 11 had fewer conf members and thus fewer games. and also that 08-12 was a period of one of the most impressive single conf dominance we've seen.
i think the last 2-3 years is a better barometer of where we're at than 4-5 years ago in our 'heyday'.

you fellers know me, I window these things by giving upside/downside, and positive/negative potential...

Alabama (12-0 ~ 10-2) holding
LSU (11-1 ~ 9-3) rising
Auburn (9-3 ~ 7-5) falling >>> Texas A&M (7-5 ~ 9-3) holding >>> Arkansas (6-6 ~ 9-3) rising
Mississippi State (5-7 ~ 3-9) holding
Mississippi (3-9 ~ 1-11) falling
East
Florida (9-3 ~ 8-4) holding >>> Georgia (9-3 ~ 7-5) holding ---- UT (7-5 ~ 9-3) rising

Kentucky (6-6 ~ 5-7) falling
Missouri (4-8 ~ 6-6) holding

>>> = even

I personally think it will end up pretty close to that.

Just to be different
I really need to catch up on everyone else. Been focused on the Hogs. I think Arkansas may surprise this year. 8-4 for the floor. Could get to double digit wins if they catch a break or two. Also have to avoid the injuries.
