Whatever criteria you choose is fine, just THE game for your team. OSU and UM fans need not respond, or they can post Number 2, or whatever. If you like several teams, list them all, whatever. Heck, talk about chili if you want.
Notre Dame at Georgia 9/21/19
Cheapest ticket on SH right now is $445. Both teams should be in the top ten with NC aspirations. ND has never visited Athens of course, the teams have played twice ever, once in the 1980 season Sugar Bowl and in 2017. Obviously, neither a conference game nor a rivalry, but a Big Game.

1 Michigan
2 Penn St
-
Minnesota, and chili has no beans.

#3 Northwestern on October 5th in Lincoln
#2 Wisconsin on November 16th in Lincoln
#1 Iowa on November 29th in Lincoln
everything leads up to the final game

The obvious choice is Michigan, but I'm going to say Penn State at home October 26.
Michigan State's road schedule is an absolute nightmare next year. They have Rutgers, but their other 4 are Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Northwestern.
Winning any of those is going to be a really, really tall task. That said, the home schedule, aside from Penn State, looks very manageable (sorry season ticket holders): Tulsa, WMU, Arizona State, Indiana, Illinois, Maryland.
If MSU can win that Penn State game, that gives us some leeway, we can hopefully win our other home games, and maybe pull one road upset? Get to 9-3. Lose that Penn State game? Then you almost have to pull a road upset, or you damn well have to avoid a single letdown game at home, or suddenly bowl eligibility comes into question. To me, that home game against Penn State seems to be the swing between competing for a top non NY6 bowl, and maybe fighting for bowl eligibility.

How about a regular season game? Is it always the Iron Bowl?
-
The Buckeyes will be living the King Barry nightmare, facing each of the top three teams from the opposite division.
Ought to help offset the weak OOC schedule.
-
Nebraska is top 3? Hmm. We'll see.
OSU has a bye and a date with MSU in that 5 week span. Too bad OSU doesn't face all 3 of them in a row. That would be more fun.

The defending champ, the helmet team and the team to beat.

As a general rule it is. LSU has replaced it on occasion recently. Might do so again this year.

r-SECCG. -NCG.
I miss those days.

vs Georgia in Jax
-
also:
vs Miami in Orlando
@ Kentucky (early season measuring stick)
@ LSU
vs FSU
vs Auburn

I think @CU is important. Not because CU is top 10 or anything but Frost needs to win a road game, for real. Plus it's CU.
-
Good point that a top game MIGHT be an early one with some special circumstances that make it more important.

Iowa at Wisconsin
Even though NW won the west last year, many Iowa fans still believe it has to beat Wisconsin to show they can win the West.
