we've (the site) just launched a new venture we're calling "Missing Stars" Prospect Player Locator. The idea is to collect data cards from athletes who have been passed over by the recruiting services- which we all know happens all the time. They could be missed due to location, because they don't have coaches engaged or with developed relationships, or because they fell victim to stupidity of youth and need another shot.
the site has a good chunk of change invested in this. we're securing or have secured a massive mailing and contact list of every Athletic Department of every school in the nation. We'll be providing those schools and several scouting services with information collected from the athlete, their coaches, or a guardian.
this doesn't cost the athlete or the interested party (school) a red cent. freeFREEfree... we simply think it will be damn cool to get involved in a venture that is pretty much unprecedented and for a good cause..
So, anyway, hopefully we'll have some athletes participate soon. nobody wants to be the first it seems, though i've talked with several coaches and a scout or two about what we're doing, and they have shown enthusiasm with our intent. What i'd like to see you guys do, if you are so inclined, is to share this with people so they can direct their athletes (missed by the services) the direction here... this would include coaches and those affiliated with the game at the HS and JUCO levels. Also, if you want to read through athlete's 'profiles' and offer guidance to them that would be pretty dang awesome too... If you care further inclined to share this on your social media- which never ceases to amaze me with it's reach- and ask your friends to share too, it would be hugely helpful.
the March window for schools to communicate with athletes opens March 1st. Athletes can contact schools at any time and however they see fit to do so. We're a bit late to maximize this window, but... we can still get some exposure and in turn exposure for the athlete.
this isn't just Football... it can be other sports as well- but.... we sho' like our football around here, no?
