Pretty cool Florida keeps its DC from being poached by the Bengals.
Also, Florida baseball starts the season by sweeping Long Beach State.
I've been told our basketball team sucks...but that's basketball.
-
Not a fan of Todd Grantham personally. He really messed up several solid UGA defenses.
-
Maybe he's improved - did well at MSU and his first year at Florida was a vast improvement from 2017.
-
His issue at UGA was overly complex schemes. Maybe the Dawgs were too dumb for him.
I've never seen a team with so many blown assignments.
-
Some sports site had Franks as the No. 3 QB in the SEC. If so, that suggests Florida should be a solid threat in the East.
I realize such "rankings" are click bait of course, but they can be somewhat suggestive.
-
He could very well be the #3 QB in the SEC, but an OL with 4 new starters can drop that idea off a cliff real fast.
-
That obviously is not good at all, but the new guys could be decent enough. Who else in the East looks like a threat to UGA? Mizzou? USCe?
UGA has a somewhat easier conference schedule overall with Auburn away and A&M at home vs LSU on the road. USCe comes to Athens, as does Notre Dame, which should be a significant game nationally. Somebody was projecting UGA as a 10.5 point favorite in that which I kinda doubt.

BetOnline released early odds on 47 top games last Tuesday (March, 19). UGA is an 11.5 point favorite over ND.

Re: UGA arrests.
Seriously?
"Per the report, the arrest was made after marijuana was found in their dorm room, Room 420,....."

I thought the arrests under Smart had more or less stopped, but apparently not. These don't sound "major" to me, and the players are not starters.
-
UGA had a scrimmage. Smart said some things were good and some were bad. Sport writers concocted several paragraphs on that.

Lol. Bama is scheduling second games in Tuscaloosa. Will schedule NS game when, not if, those schools buy out of the return game.
-
I have been around long enough through spring practices to be able to predict the synopsis of every new player:
"He really shows a lot of ability, he has amazing athleticism, and is learning the playbook and adding to a few skills like blocking/checking off.".
-
South Florida signs a deal to play Alabama. The Bulls are also doing a 2-for-1 with Florida. Maybe UCF should start making deals instead of bitching about being less-than.
-
I could see some P5 teams not want to schedule UCF, even in a 2-fer-1. Not much upside and plenty of downside.
You can pay Little Sisters to come for a thrashing and a paycheck, not much upside but almost no downside.
I'd like to see every P5 team schedule at least 10 other P5 level teams a year, and then only 2 Sisters.

This kid will be great

The Dawgs lost one of their few returning WRs with some talent to a domestic battery charge, he's off the team.
