Hopefully after this beat down we will never again see a mediocre Notre Dame team in the playoffs. They simply do not have the speed and depth to compete against the likes of Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State.
-
Theyre a glorified mid major, for all practical purposes. Seriously......
-
I thought they were better. Nope.
-
IF.....if they don't do something differently. They'll be an Ivy League type team in 20 years.

The schedule well, it's just that Stanford and USC are way down of late. They play five ACC teams and the ACC has been down other than the team that owns that conference. Syracuse and Michigan were solid opponents, and fairly often you only play 2 solid opponents in 12 games.
Had they been in a conference, they might well have been torched in the CG and knocked out.
There was no way the committee would omit a 12-0 P5 kind of a team.

Just read that they haven't won a "big" bowl game since the 1994 Cotton (93 season), against an aTm team that won a very weak SWC. That's a long time ago.

They are going to take a lot of heat for a while from yesterday.

Join a conference, or die. They would be a nice anchor, along with Penn State, in the new 11-member Big East conference I've designed.
