Bowls make no sense. We are in some weird bowl, but a pretty fun matchup.
-
From a potential ratings standpoint this Bowl couldn’t’ve asked for a pair of schools with more name power. Hopefully Michigan St can get back to a decent offense.
-
That's a killer match-up. But I thought the name was a satirical joke. Way better than being stuck in Detroit or NYC, though, and I thought those were more likely.
-
We know from past performances that the Oregon O completely sucks against any D with a pulse.
So if Sparty can move the ball at all...

Wow, Redbox is already out dated? I'm just now accepting it as a replacement for video rental outlets.
-
Well we did have a Blockbuster Bowl . I assume the Netflix bowl will be upon us by 2025.
-
Netflix should be dead by then
-
Yeah, all of these breakoff streaming services are going to result in Netflix going under, and us paying more than we did for cable.
-
well, we are ALL going to pay for the content we want to consume.
we just won't have to pay for the stuff we don't watch

Which will likely be more expensive.
-
it's not getting any cheaper

Jim Delany is willing to take his cut

CB Justin Layne leaning towards leaving early for the draft and skipping the bowl game.
Makes playing Josiah Scott in his 4th game against Rutgers all the more painful, as we'd now play Oregon's offense without our top two CBs, or burn Scott's redshirt.
-
so, the bowl would count as the 5th game?
bummer

Correct.

A la carte programming is better for every American except the sports fans whose cable packages used to be subsidized by every grandma and non-fan who couldn't opt out of espn, btn, etc.
In the new world order, we're going to be the most screwed. I guess that'll be just payback for the grandmas, but it'll really suck for us.

maybe Delaney and Fox will give us a break

Cool beans, facing the #1 QB prospect in the NFL draft, being protected by the only line to have both OTs make PFFs top 10. Although again with some of their weirdness, I don't get how Van Lanen was #1 nationally

And a top 6 guard

Also the UW pair is here too, along with the #1 OT, so for all the OL griping...

All of these breakout streaming services are leading to a revival in internet piracy.
Torrent sites are regaining their share of Internet traffic after years of declines. I'd post the link but my phone is being dumb right now.
-
Justin Layne officially not playing.
The Scotts, Josiah and LJ, both will

I'd argue that he was UW's best lineman this season. Seemed like the staff had Deitzen "starting" at LT out of loyalty or something. Van Lanen probably played more snaps though.

Keep Oregon guessing as to which QB they don't have to really prep for

Saw that Dantonio has been either favored or a one TD or less underdog in 7 of 10 bowl games, and this is the 8th. He's 6-1 straight up and 7-0 against the spread. I think the one cover/loss was when we were like 6-6 and had to play Matt Ryan for some reason

It was the Bear on Gameday who said this. HE was confident in the 7-0 ATS, but less on 6-1 straight up. I think he's wrong. Has to be 5-2 straight up.

I'm really looking forward to this one. I'm sure MSU will be motivated. 3PM on Fox, correct?
-
so, about that MSU offense showing up...
