Title: B1G Divisional races headed into week 12
Post by: medinabuckeye1 on November 13, 2018, 02:22:29 PM
The West is all but done.  Northwestern has clinched the B1GCG berth and at least a share of the B1G-W title.  The Wisconsin/Purdue winner could get a B1G-W Co-Championship but only if they win their last game AND Northwestern loses out.  Even then they lose the tie.

Michigan's win eliminated Penn State.  Michigan State's loss eliminated the Spartans.  Now it is down to the Buckeyes and Wolverines.
It is really pretty simple.  If Michigan wins this week they clinch at least a share of the B1G-E title.  If Ohio State wins this week then THE GAME is officially for the B1G-E berth in the B1GCG.

If both win or both lose then Michigan will be playing for an outright B1G-E title and the B1GCG berth while Ohio State will be playing for a co-championship and the B1GCG berth.

If Ohio State wins and Michigan loses then both teams will be playing for the outright title and B1GCG berth.

If Michigan wins and Ohio State loses this week then Michigan clinches the outright B1G-E title and the Buckeyes will be relegated to playing spoiler.

It was the perfect storm for Northwestern. Where everyone in the West sorta sucks, and Northwestern can just Northwestern their way through the games that they need to win.

In the race between the east and west divisions, the East is up 3 with 3 games to go.  The East could clinch this Saturday if MSU beats Nebraska as expected.
Remaining east-west games

MSU-Neb week 12
