Merlin made Utah State matter for once in college football.  I'm pretty sure they finished top 10 the year they went to the Sun Bowl.   He won the Outland,  3 time Academic AA, AA his Sr. year, graduated summa cum laude in Finance.   Some footage of him out there for USU.

Of course I mainly remember him doing color on the Rose Bowl for NBC as a kid and working AFC games w Enberg, plus his long running commercials for FTD flowers.

There are four guys who were four time, all were 19th century.  Can't find a list of three time.

bama has 2 that were 1st team 3 time AA, woodrow lowe (1 year consensus) and cornellius bennett (1 year unanimous).
i'm guessing that will be similar to most blue bloods, with usc and nd having a couple more. probably somewhere around 25-30 total.

Looked up a couple blue bloods.  Without verifying, Michigan has two (Bennie Oosterbaan and Anthony Carter), Ohio State has none, Penn State has 1.

I was using this super unofficial list, which was the first I could find.  The consensus lists are easy, but I was looking for first team any kind.  This lists each players out, and none had three.  But maybe because of lack of room, rather than listing three next to Lauriniaitis, they simply listed him three times, which is how I missed him
