Non Conference Schedules for the B1G. Lots of 3 and 4 team mini-events at various locales, lots of day night DHs. These are often carefully curated to boost RPI. Great thing about Women's Vball, the helmets don't duck each other, and even though there are some neutral site games on a campus site, some of these 4 team challenges, rotate to each school over time. B1G/Pac series, VERT sponsors a big one, ACC/B1G.That's really just a football problem. All the top schools play each other in all of the tournament sports. MSU in basketball this year is playing Kansas, UCLA, North Carolina, Louisville and Florida. All by December 8.

see you in Lincoln for the VERT ChallengeAs in see you play UF and UO. N v UT won't happen. This is Nebraska's last yr in the VERT per Cook.
see you in Lincoln for the VERT ChallengeWell I won't be there, and as Marq pointed out Texas and NU won't be playing against one another, but I'll be there in spirit. :)
MSU opening with a 3-1 loss at Tennessee does not inspire confidence. They rebounded to beat Chattanooga and Belmont, but I imagine they'll be dropping out of the polls next week.Sounds like it's time to go all in on Pitt. :great:
I have to imagine Volleyball is miles off the radar outside of Happy Valley in Pennsylvania. A testament to Russ Rose's genius. The 'east coast' and I know Pittsburgh isn't viewed as 'east coast' is pretty much a wasteland for the game. For whatever reason, the fertile ground of HS and Club talent in OH, IN, KY, pretty much stops to the east.Yeah, it's like lacrosse in reverse: away from the East, most people have barely heard of it, it seems.
That Frosh is gonna be a bust.Hames? She played well. There will need to be a solid month of matches before you see any chemistry w the OHs . Lexi returning will be nice.
UNC is a program that is trying hard to succeed at vball. They had some 'ups' and then they suffered a lot substantial injuries last year, and have had a lot of roster turnover. They will be better down the road then they are right now. They hung around with Minnesota last week for a little bit.Yeah, my unscientific data suggested it's a school that should be good, but I don't recall ever seeing their name deep in the tourney.
OSU went 2-1 at the Rebel Invitational, with the lone loss coming at the hands of those host Rebels.Fightin' Leias
Rebelettes?
Marquette gave BYU a run, but was out of gas, losing in 4 sets. BYU will likely be #1, and they could run the table now in the reg season.

If you're jonesing for sports right now and you get BYUTV (I do) you can watch #24 Utah at #1 BYU right now. Should be a good match.I get LHN. Don't get B1G network or whatever BYU is on. And I don't know of anyone that gets PAC.
#2Stanford at #3UT Friday night on the blacked out network. I'm sure Utee gets it. Stanford swept the Longhorns in Palo Alto on Tuesday night. It was a very sad atmosphere in Palo Alto, should be humming at Gregory Gym Friday night.
Not to sound like a resident homer for the State of Indiana, but I could make it case for it being a much better gig than Maryland for volleyball. IU is about to (in a week or so) open a brand new volleyball/wrestling facility, they likely threw decent $$ at Steve Aird ($231,000 vs $172,000 at Maryland), that's top 20 money overall, and probably 6th highest in the B1G, who is viewed as a rising star coaching/recruiting status. B1G pays more for than any other league for vball HCs. He signed a nice class for Maryland last year. He's got a good coaching pedigree (assistant under Russ Rose), played at Penn St. The State produces great volleyball talent, one of the best club scenes around (Munciana).Cook deserves every penny of that salary.
This data is a little old (2016-17) Base Salary, we all know there may be other forms of comp.

Horns lose at Kansas 3-1. They Jayhawks are not a great team this year, but they have enough weapons to take you down if you're not playing well. Ah well, on to the next one.Speaking of a team w/o an elite setter. Shook had a rough night for Texas. Serving was lousy too.

My guess is that the Gophers were still rattled from the bat incident @tOSU a few weeks back. O0OK. Cool. Hook Em!
I'm pulling for Penn St, Nebraska, Illinois and BYU this round.
So that means it will probably be Stanford, Oregon, Wisconsin and Texas in the Final Four.
OK. Cool. Hook Em!Nope.
Nope.3rd party smack. Lame. You're kind of an asshole sometimes.
Horns down!

My third party support of the Cougs has been consistent and unwavering.
The Cougars will run the table, IF... they survive the BYUte game.
Their conference is awful.

No, wrong again. It was horns down this round. And once again, you're an asshole.
OSU did not do nearly as well as the Y, who swept the schLonghorns in straight sets.tOSU sucks donkey shit through a straw, and so do you. You're a weak, lame, 3rd party-smacking, coattail riding little bitch.
Yeesh, I was all in on the Horns in the sweet 16.Eh. You're the one that decided to run 3rd party smack. You reap what you sow.
You're kind of an asshole sometimes.
And once again, you're an asshole.

tOSU sucks donkey shit through a straw, and so do you. You're a weak, lame, 3rd party-smacking, coattail riding little bitch.Gotta make sure we park your Hornbred intellect atop this new page, just in case anyone missed it.
Oh, and Texas has scoreboard on your football team, too, beeeyotch.

Stanford serving some cold revenge thus far. Wow.no way in heck that the lady huskers can hang with those Trees in the championship match
Tough hill to climb but do-able...you know yer Volleyball!!!
you know yer Volleyball!!!Very nice comeback from the Huskers, well-done!
5-set WIN!!!
Stanford is good.. very impressive. I'm not sure UNL can win a set.true, especially the first line
All that said, what a year for the huskers. 8 new players and you return to the finals. Heck of a season... Exceeded expectations.... fans and program should be proud.
OK. Cool. Hook 'Em!Nope.
