That is a lousy slate.

I don't know why so many people are afraid of South Carolina. They simply do not have the personnel to match up against Georgia. The two games imho that Georgia needs to worry about are at underrated LSU and against Auburn. Either one of those two could be trouble.

That is a lousy slate.
While it's not UGA's fault that GT has been middling lately, it's reality, and they could schedule better.  Florida would be in the same boat if FSU had a long-term lull, but that hasn't happened in my lifetime.

They usually play another P5 team.  Austin Peay?

I saw a five game season ticket for $355.  You can guess the games.  Yuck.

LSU and Auburn are the most talented opponents.  UGA tens to fall apart in Columbia, at least under Richt.

I guess I'll be the argumentative downer and say that if UGA makes the SECCG against Bama, they will lose to the Tide.  UGA is really stocking up, but for now Bama will still have an edge in talent.

Yeah, last year I said UGA was 2 years away from matching Alabama.  Next year Saban better eat his Wheaties.

I don't think the UGA offense can get to 31 on LSU and Alabama.

I figure another OT game or three.

And the Dawg offense SHOULD be pretty potent, probably not as impressive scoringwise because they as usual will run clock, but I think they should be quite proficient.  The OL looks to be one of the best around, I think.

I've got the UGA O-line as #2 in the conference, behind only Mizzou.  They should be amongst the best in the country.  On paper.

The OL was solid last year, and is nearly all back.  We all know how critical it is to any offense to have an OL that works together as a team and is experienced and good.

I see limitations on Alabama's team such as the defensive line, all new defensive backfield and lack of depth at the two middle linebacker spots, but Alabama's offensive line may be the best one they have ever had. I respect Georgia's fine offensive line, but I would be real surprised if Missouri or anybody else has as good an offensive line as Alabama. IMO Bama's O-line is the best squad on it's team.

Phil Steele OL Unit Ranking has UGA #2, Bama #3, and MO #10

One figures Bama will have a stout OL.  It has at times been the weakness for the Dawgs.  Last year it was THE key question mark.  This year not so much.  I don't know if it is better than Bama's obviously, it might not be, however one can measure such a thing, but it should be good enough to roll over lesser teams.

That was the warning sign I saw two years ago for UGA, close games with lesser teams.  Not at all a good sign. Last year they started dominating for the most part.

A team like Bama blows those teams out.  Any really good team should do that consistently because the OL is blowing open holes.

I read somewhere this is the most talented team in UGA history.  Maybe that is based off recruiting rankings or something, or maybe NFL prospects, whatever.  I tend to think it is true.  That doesn't mean they are destined for greatness of course.  The quality of the OL "should" mean the blow out lesser teams - if they don't it is a warning sign.

They are stacked at RB and QB and TE.  They have some decent WRs.  The defense lost the most quality but they are replacing that with high ranked folks who will be a bit young.  I don't expect much of a drop off on D this year though losing R. Smith is a big hole.  He had the speed to close gaps quickly.

The game at USCe is key, I think.  If they can snag a win there they should be good for a while.  If not, it means they are "mortal" and not as dominant as some think despite talent.

Then there is @ Mizzou, which could be a stumble, at LSU, Florida, and Auburn.
