Title: Best #5
Post by: OrangeAfroMan on June 15, 2018, 03:04:47 PM
Okay, waiting 4 days is too much.  So the voting for 1-4 will continue and close after 4 days, but I'll introduce the next 4 jersey numbers every 2 days.  It'll be fine.

Vote to see the results.

I have paid little to no attention to the Heisman Trophy award since Paul Hornung won it in 1956. ND was 2-8! ~???

Oh, I thought it was an individual award...

This one conspicuously has the fewest votes...I wonder why.

Crabtree could've been a choice.

Yes it is. An individual who is a difference maker. ND could have gone 2-8 without him. Louisville is probably looking at another 8-4 season this year with Lamar Jackson. Looking at 4-8 at best without him.

By that logic, no one should ever win the Heisman while surrounded by elite talent.

Too young to remember Barry in college, but Reggie was the most fun collegiate I can recall watching.  He gets my vote.

Yeah, Bush is one of those inner circle players.  In my viewing time, Herschel, Barry, Adrian P. And Reggie Bush on the non qb side.  Total men vs boys .  I'd probably put Dupree in there too but he was so fleeting.  His 30 for 30 was perfect.

If I were to expand to include WRs ,  Moss, Fitz and Crabtree were playing at a different level.

I know TE doesn't get pub, but how Keith Jackson played in that era, he was 20+yrs ahead of his era.

Just an FYI:  #1-4 will be closed tonight, while 5-8 will remain open for 2 more days.  Tonight I will post #9-12.

Yep. And he wasn’t THAT individually special.

I'm sure he wasn't.  Heisman voters were/are lazy and are basically sheep.  Whores to the narrative.  Eyes down, finding safety in the herd.  Embarrassing.

Went with Reggie. Dood was electric and made me want to watch USC play.

As special as Reggie was, Vince Young should have won the Heisman in '05.

there's really no need to stir up the Horn fans
