Well it's here and this one goes off at 8PM CDT on Friday. ESPN has the carry.
Utah State wasn't very good last year, but the head coach is very familiar with the Badger defense as he was the OC at USU while Gerry was there with Dave Aranda. UW is still playing that defensive scheme, so that could be interesting.
-
This traditional rivalry is all knotted up at 1-1.
The Blue Aggies put a pretty good lickin' on the Badgers, 20-0 in 1968.
Sconnie survived a scare in 2012, eeking out a 2 point victory 16-14.
-
UW went 0-10 in 1968.
-
Utah State is as bad as they've been in a long time IMO. Wisconsin probably rolls a decent USU team, but this version is extra fluffy.
What did I have them in my projections? Like 3-9?
-
USU was gawdawful before CGA put 'em back on the map.
Both of my parents went to that school.

I'll be the first to admit that I fell for the snake oil that Gerry was selling in Madison. He pretended to embrace the culture and philosophy and then proceeded to try and undo everything that his boss built.
So glad he is gone. So very glad. Thanks again to UNL for the Mike Riley hire.

Your are welcome
I hope it works out well for both fan bases
-
the badgers gonna cover?
It's only 4 TDs
and why Friday night?

At the time I thought it was an excellent hire.Evidently he was a west guy who wanted to move back.Worked out for the best as PC landed in Mad-Town.Best HC since BA at UW
-
I thought it was a good hire too. Then he started changing the strength program, tried to bring in JuCo and HS kids who had no chance to get in, and went away from what UW football was all about in not heavily recruiting the in-state kids. Then there was the mind-boggling benching of Gordon in the LSU game (which led to a loss) and the lie that Stave was injured so that he could start a WR at QB.
Toodles.

I think it's interesting to see 4 true freshmen in the two-deep on this depth chart. QB, RB, WR and long snapper. I guess the staff likes what it brought in last winter.
-
Gameday. Man, the summer flew by, and that sucks. But this is a nice consolation.
Most people don't expect USU to pose much of a threat tonight, and I'm one of them. Early games show rust and weaknesses, but I expect UW to win comfortably and for the true freshman to get time at QB.
